The space
This cute studio space is freshly remodeled and newly decorated. This home is a great base to use as you explore all the amazing beauty of the Big Island of Hawaii. Enjoy a lovely view of the Pacific ocean from the private lanai. A new yoga or stretching deck is right outside the house and available for all guest, we even supply you with yoga mats. (Masako is a yoga instructor and private sessions can be arraigned). A beautiful and discrete outdoor shower is available for your enjoyment after a day at the beach or a late night cool down under the stars (or in the rain). The Studio is fully self-sufficient including all amenities including mini fridge, gas cook top, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, cookware, plates, cups and utensils.
The bed is Queen size.

Guest access
This studio is a short 10-15 minute walk to Banyans and Lymans surf breaks, picturesque turtle beach and Kona's favorite grind spot "Da Poke Shack"
There are over a dozen fruit bearing trees on the property including Starfruit, Tahitian limes, pink grapefruit, mango, Ice cream bananas and Samoan coconuts that can all be enjoyed depending on the season. I even grow the mythical and amazing white pineapple that ripens in the summer.
A rental car is always recommended when visiting the big island because of the expansive nature of this beautiful island. There is plenty of safe driveway and street parking in this quaint, local neighborhood. However, even those without a car can still enjoy the Kona experience. Walk just 2.3 miles to the heart of charming Kona town for breakfast and coffee to start your day. Spend a balmy afternoon watching world class surfers at Banyans surf breaks. Another mile south is La'Aloa or Magic sands beachpark, one of the only white sand beaches along the Kona coast and a great place to spend the whole day at the beach.

Ali'i kai is a quiet, local neighborhood directly between Kailua kona and Keauhou kona to the south. The sound of birds singing are usually the first sounds heard in the mornings. The house is located on a side street that only serves neighborhood residents and is not located on a busy road.

We are very active, lovers of nature and the incredible lifestyle offered here on the Big Island. We enjoy scuba, yoga, hiking, stargazing, body surfing and swimming in the ocean. We have both traveled extensively but never dread coming back home to our island home. We have been hosting personal friends here for years and they are always sorry to leave this amazing local. We have been so blessed and thought that expanding into Airbnb seemed like the logical next step at this point in our lives. We are available to share any insights on the best places to eat, hike, snorkel/dive, surf or just relax.
