Set in country NSW is our delightful old Red Rattler Train awaiting those who like an adventure. Surrounded by nature, Kangaroo's and farm animals on 97 acres of private land. Making it a wonderful haven that's sure to relax your body and mind.

The space

Hidden amongst the rolling hills of Cargo is our picturesque destination. If you ever wondered what it was like to wake up in the morning with the sounds of wildlife around you then our place is a must.
Our train carriage dates back to the "Red Rattler" days with the Sydney train route still there for the eye to view. A steering wheel at the front where the train driver sat makes it a unique experience.
New walkways have been built allowing you the opportunity to view the property. Our animals will welcome you and there is an abundance of food available from our vegetable and fruit tree gardens.

Guest access

Access to our property from Orange NSW is along Coronation drive. Stay on this road until you see Edinboroh Rd turn off. Turn to the left along the dirt road until you see a sign saying McMurrays Lane. Turn right, follow this road until you see a sign at our front gate with the numbers 712. Your there!
Keys to our property gate will need to be collected from Bissys Café & Catering Crn Anson and Warrendine street Orange.

Interaction with guests

If you are requiring help or information throughout your stay we are available via the mobile contact number we give you on arrival.
Additionally we have a variety of information about Orange and Cabonne area available at our café. Bissys Café and Catering Crn Anson and Warrendine street.

Other things to note

The location we provide for you is very secluded and private.
You may see Kangaroo's, Echidna's, goats, and other wild animals roaming freely on our property. They have been doing this for a long time now and will not harm you if you leave them alone.
We have limited water available onsite so we ask that you are conservative when using water.
Please do not lite outdoor fires onsite because the chance of it getting away and burning the property is a high fire danger.

Please respect our property, noting the comments made above. If you have picked our place as a destination then we feel you have done this for a unique experience.
There are some children's play equipment available onsite and the animals are a firm favourite. However adult supervision is required when the children are out side because there are electric fences and they do hurt if touched plus a dam which does not have a fence around it.
Your free to roam the land, however if you smoke you need to be very careful as the terrain can easily burn. We prefer that you only smoke in dirt areas and make sure that your smoke is well put out.
No pets allowed due to the wildlife that habitats on our farm
Please refrain from parties where other people are invited to our site unless there has been a pre-organised event that we have been informed about.
Our café (Bissys Café Orange) is available for catering if required.

Fiona and Paul were wonderful hosts and their train really is like nothing you've stayed on before. Both my partner and I enjoyed the break from the busy city. The facilities are great, be sure to do a proper grocery shop beforehand as you're fairly far from most things! The stars were amazing and you could see them so clearly, the moon chairs were great for gazing! Also with the power and water limitations it's worth using candles instead of the lights, can make the stay even more special. Will be recommending this to anyone who wants a unique experience!

What a place! We loved our stay here so much, it was everything we were looking for- peaceful, cosy, no distractions, bike riding, beautiful landscape. If you come prepared to be thoughtful with power you will love it- we let the indoor and outdoor fires and candles light most of our three nights here. Fiona and Paul were excellent hosts and the most generous people. We had a great lunch at their cafe in Orange and definitely recommend it for the food and the permaculture oasis they have set up there. Thanks so much, hope to be back!

The train carriage is, as described, a great adventure. Our toddler loved it and played with the pony and pigs for hours! It's beautifully calming and we all slept really well. However, everything is a bit shabby and not very well looked after. The breakfast was very basic and we couldn't find much fresh produce. On our second night, we only had an hour of electricity, but that may have been because of the cloudy weather. The area is beautiful, but sadly the driveway to the carriage was surrounded by rubbish and was very rocky, which might be tricky for visitors with fancy or very small cars.

We both had a very relaxed couple of nights. It was a very unique experience staying in a train carriage. The accommodation was basic and had limited power but this only added to our experience. We enjoyed the pigs, turkeys and pony who happily took our treats. The accommodation was close enough to some of Orange's top attractions. We would recommend this accommodation to anyone wanting a quiet relaxing stay. Fiona and Paul explained everything about the carriage and how to get there when we 1st arrived. We hope to stay again one day.
