Hobart Hideaway Pods offer multi-award winning, boutique eco-friendly tourist accommodation set amongst the rural part of Mt Wellington's foothills conveniently located just 20 minutes from Hobart. Two architecturally designed pods boast stand out environmentally conscious with the aim of minimising environmental footprint. Guests are surrounded by floor to ceiling windows and sweeping decks connecting them with landscaped gardens, wildlife, and expansive water views across the Derwent Estuary.

The space
We are pleased to announce we have just won Silver for both Standard Accommodation and Ecotourism at the 2018 Tasmanian Tourism Awards. Previous year we gained a Gold and Bronze respectively.

Our pods are architecturally designed eco-friendly, boutique accommodation. The Pea Pod is wheelchair accessible. There are picturesque views of the rural setting and beyond to the ocean, with glimpses to Mount Wellington. The Pea Pod is a studio space with large bi-folding doors across one wall onto beautiful decks that wrap around the entire building. There is an ensuite equipped with a composting toilet, shower and basin. The king-sized bed can also be configured as two king single beds. The kitchenette includes bar fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster, and all the relevant crockery cutlery etc. Breakfast will be provided on request. Continental breakfast is $10 extra a person, and includes bread, toast, cereal, fruit and yogurt, jam and milk. Tea and coffee are included in the room price. Open up the Bi-folds, and sit out on the deck with a glass of wine and enjoy the views and watch the alpacas in the next paddock.

Additionally to your great experience, Hobart Hideaway Pods will donate $1 for every night booked to Wildcare Tasmania, a powerhouse team of volunteers and donors supporting the care and conservation of Tasmania's wild places, wildlife and cultural heritage, including the Tasmanian Devil and the rare and threatened species of orange-bellied parrot. Your booking gives back to preserving Tasmania!

Guest access
Car parking onsite. The Pea Pod is wheelchair accessible via a level path from the carpark to inside the pod. The bathroom also allows wheelchair access.

Other things to note
The Pods have composting toilets (the luxurious kind) as a effort to minimise the impact on the earth. They are maintained to ensure your use is pleasant.
