Karatta Cottage is part of a seaside home built in 1858 for the Jones family to escape the inland heat of the dry Limestone Coast summer. A romantic getaway across from the sparkling waters of Karatta Beach and overlooking Lake Butler Marina, Karatta Cottage is the perfect location for a couples’ getaway. It is full of historic seaside charm and is just as good for snuggling up on a grey rainy day in front of the fire with a good book and glass of wine as it is to enjoy in the summer months.

The space
Karatta Cottage is the perfect base to explore everything Robe has to offer. We are located directly across from Karatta Beach on one side, with a view of the boat harbour from the bedroom window. We are a 15-20 minute walk to the main street and within walking distance of a range of beautiful beaches.

Our small kitchen is equipped with the basics, please note we have a microwave, small stovetop, kettle and toaster but no oven. We keep basic supplies stocked including tea, coffee, sugar, salt & pepper, olive oil and a few little treats, leaving it up to you whether you would like to buy fresh food or sample the many cafes and eateries the area has to offer.

Curl up on the armchairs in the Atrium in cooler weather with the fire going to keep warm, there is no TV so when we are not out and about we like to spend our time reading books or flicking through magazines with a coffee (or we bring our own device to stream our current show).

One cosy bedroom is available, with a queen bed featuring luxurious bedding, the bedroom also has it's own heating system.

There is one bathroom with everything you will need for your stay including towels, soap, body wash and hairdryer.

Plenty of off street parking is available out the front of the cottage.

Check-in is from 2pm and checkout is at 10am.

Guest access
Karatta cottage does adjoin the main house but there are separate entrances and the cottage will be entirely yours throughout your stay. Please note there may be other guests staying in the main house and the outside spaces are accessible to both Karatta Cottage and Karatta House guests.
