Untouched and unspoil by East Gippsland fires! A charming waterside cottage, combines tranquility and comfort. A romantic self catering cottage ideal for 2, a stone's throw above Nungurner Jetty in a private garden, stunning water views. A delightful retreat, with beautifully comfortable db, fine linen and a colurful ambience. Cosy in winter, perfect for outdoor living in summer. From the dining table watch the delightful rosellas, parakeets and local birds up close or distant dolfins

The space
Simply a delicious space and place.....The host build the cottage himself and recently refurbished it, in a refreshing and unique way. Decoration is a bit of eclectic fun which will delight most guests who enjoy a touch of creativity. Beautiful linen is provided and simple luxuries to ensure that your stay is comfortable. The kitchen is perfect for preparation of your own simple meals with a real oven and beautifully equipped - fresh herbs supplied from the garden when avaliable. Fresh flowers to welcome you on arrival.

Need a second bed? A single matrass on the floor can be arranged for the downstairs area if an extra bed is required, ideal for a child. Extra linen fee $20. There is a very steep staircase to the loft with a NEW comfortable double size bed tucked under the rafters. The steep staircase with rails (but open sides) makes it unsuitable for young children/active crawling babies! No young children or babies allowed.

Guest access
Easy access and parking to a self contained cabin. A fully equipped kitchen with oven, stove, microwave and outside BBQ. One minute walk down to a charming lakeside cove and Nungurner Jetty to swim, watch the sail boats or throw in a line. Relax on the private, fully enclosed deck or lie in the hammock and listen to the froggy chorus from a nearby billabong, or simply enjoy the dawn birdsong. If you're lucky, you may see the dolphins, seals or a yacht race in Bancroft Bay.

Safe parking near the cottage, with place for a small boat too Shops, laundrette and restaurants in nearby Metung or Lakes Entrance. 20 minutes drive to ocean beaches and walks, wineries and local artists studios. Beautiful walking opportunities abound.

Unfortunately we cannot have guests with dogs, due to local wild life.

Other things to note
The Crow's Nest uses rain water, please be cautious with this precious resource.

We have WiFi buts it's slow, impossible to download movies but fine for the basics like email ! This is regional Victoria!! There is a DVD player and nearby video stores. BUT No TV signal! Have a real escape and enjoy the bush and birdsong, and even the distant sound of the breakers on 90 Mile beach if the wind blows from that direction.

There is a 24 hr laundrette in Metung 10 minutes away, but washing line in the sunshine on the property. We recommend you buy your groceries and fuel in Bairnsdale or Lakes Entrance where theres a good selection at reasonable prices. Metung has local Grocery store open 7 days a week too.

Guests are welcome to use bicycles and helmets at their own risk. Lovely rides nearby and to the Nyremelang Heritage homestead and lakeside park and bushlands.

I'm an artist, a teacher and have worked with young migrants. I love travel, adventure, art and design, books, poetry and open seas and skies. I enjoy exploring cities and am always curious about people from different cultures and places. I would find life hard without herbal teas, books, friends, good food and surprises. When I travel I enjoy the opportunity to meet people and chat about what makes their lives worthwhile and meaningful. I appreciate staying at places that are often quite simple and small, but clean and cosy and with the owner's unique style and stamp on it.
