Elvebredden Hytte (‘Riverbank Cottage’) is a Scandinavian-inspired newly built holiday home high amongst the towering Karri trees on the Frankland River, and comes fully equipped with everything you need for a relaxed and rejuvenating stay. The meandering river lies just at the end of the driveway, and the popular fishing jetty and boat launch a short walk down Riverside Drive. Inhale the fresh coastal air, listen to the birdsong, and be nourished by the peace and serenity. Sleeps 8.
The space
With its large open plan kitchen, dining room and living room, covered outdoor patio, four bedrooms and two bathrooms, Elvebredden Hytte can comfortably accommodate up to 8 guests. One king room with ensuite, one queen room, and two twin single rooms, including a charming European-style loft bedroom with gabled ceilings and enough space for junior guests to play or chill out, all with breathtaking views of the natural beauty that surround you. There’s an indoor wood fireplace for cozy evenings, brand new kitchen appliances to cook up a feast, pod coffee machine, BBQ, washing machine, dryer, reverse cycle A/C, TV, DVD player and discs, books, toys and board games to keep everyone entertained. Sip coffee while gazing out the picture windows, or a glass of local wine on the outdoor lounge.
Pack your fishing gear, paddleboards, or kayaks and spend your days in the local rivers, inlets or beaches, or throw in the hiking boots for exploring the nearby National Parks and Bibbulmun Track. Nornalup boasts many natural attractions, with the Nornalup Inlet, Valley of the Giants Treetop Walk, Giant Tingle Tree, and Circular Pool all within a few minutes drive. Local beaches include the spectacular Conspicuous Cliffs (15 minutes), secluded Peaceful Bay (20 minutes), and picturesque Greens Pool and Elephant Rocks just 35 minutes away. Enjoy a leisurely day trip to Denmark’s beaches, restaurants and wineries (45 minutes).
Should you need to work remotely or wish to stream movies during your stay, we have recently upgraded to StarLink satellite internet, which provides wifi to the entire house.
Guest access
At Elvebredden Hytte you have access to the entire space, with the exception of two private areas: the storage closet under the stairs, and house undercroft. All items stored below the house are the private property of the owners, and not for guests’ use. Due to its secluded location, mobile coverage is limited. Wifi is available, and we have recently upgraded to StarLink. All linens and bath towels are provided, but we request that you bring your own beach towels and rinse off sand and soil at the outdoor tap. The first night's firewood has been provided for your stay, and more can be purchased from Walpole Hardware.
Other things to note
Please note that Elvebredden Hytte is not suitable for small children under 8 years of age, or for schoolies week. Strictly no pets, parties or smoking. Please respect the peace and quiet of our river valley neighbours.
While guests are welcome to bring their own paddleboards, canoes or kayaks, unfortunately the steep driveway and limited turn-around cannot accommodate boats, caravans or trailers.
Our beautiful holiday home is located in rural Australia, an area which experiences sub-optimal internet and phone coverage, and occasional electrical blackouts. We thank you for your understanding and recognition that this is outside of our control. We have recently upgraded our satellite internet provider to StarLink, and while we are pleased to be able to offer this service should it be required during your stay, we encourage our guests to take the opportunity to disconnect and relax.
Minimum stay is 3 nights during the regular season, and 5 nights during school holidays. Please note that over the Christmas/New Year period there will be additional reservation restrictions to allow our fantastic cleaners and their families to enjoy the holidays. For Christmas, check-in must be no later than December 22nd, with check-out on December 27th or 28th. Check-in on December 28th or 29th for the period over New Year's. Should you wish to spend both holidays with us, these dates can be altered upon request. Bookings after New Year's available from January 3.
