We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay for a family celebration. Totally relaxing surroundings. Super comfortable beds, warm rooms, plenty of firewood, great views, kids toys and books, well equipped kitchen, great family atmosphere. We loved Bleak House and highly recommend a visit.

A truly remarkable property and a wonderful opportunity to experience historic gracious living first hand. Well heated and furnished, lovely bedrooms and plenty of living space. Ideal for large families or a small group. Birregurra is a lovely interesting little town nearby, and it is not far to the Otways and the marvellous beaches beyond. Well worth the splurge!

We had an incredible stay at Bleak House. There were fourteen of us - a group of old friends catching up for the Easter weekend. There was more than enough room for us all and lots of wonderful heritage space to explore. Tom is a truly wonderful host. He was extremely helpful and took us on a detailed and fascinating guided tour of the property and the nearby shearing shed, which we loved! The house itself is clean, tidy, and really interesting. We cooked two huge meals during our stay and the kitchen and dining room had everything we needed to make this really special. We also enjoyed sitting by the fireplace, playing boardgames at each of three large family dining tables, and walking in the garden surrounding the property, which is beautiful. This is the perfect place for a relaxing, unique group getaway! Thanks, Tom!

Wendy was very friendly and welcoming. She was very informative and humerouse as well. The beds were comfortable with crisp sheets. All of the bedrooms had freshly cut flowers. The house was better than we expected with real old world charm, high ceilings and and interesting selection of books. We would really like to come back.

Tom User ProfileTom is a superhost.

As a traveler I love getting a handle on places by meeting it's people. Staying somewhere and taking trips, planning or haphazard.
As an Airbnb host, I love meeting travelers who are interested in understanding the true sense of a place. And on my farm in Australia's Great Ocean Road region I have plenty of history and space to share with guests. I'm good with English, conversational in Japanese and will get by if you write in French!
