Separate entrance to 2 floor annex. King-size bed/bath-ensuite. Fully equipped kitchen, full-size fridge/freezer, dishwasher. Wood-burning stove, 2nd bathroom with shower. Washer/dryer. Outdoor area. Country walks, AONB area with village/town close-by. Secluded setting. Milk, coffee, sugar, tea, pepper and salt etc.

The space

Lovely large, bright, bedroom with bath ensuite and fabulous views with a little balcony. There is also a shower-room down stairs. Double doors lead from a little garden into a wood-floored open-plan living room which has a wood burner with wood supplied. The washer/dryer is under the stairs. There is other heating, TV, DVD, WiFi and hair-dryer. Kitchen is fully equipped and has full oven/hob and microwave as well as a dishwasher and large fridge/freezer. Fabulous views, quiet and private. AONB area. The owner's two friendly dogs have access to the whole garden which is approx. one acre set in amongst green fields. Secure parking just next to annex. Check-in/out dates are flexible. Please note there is also a double sofa-bed/linen if visitors wish to book an extra guest for which there will be a small charge.

Guest access

This accommodation/annex is down the side of a cottage. There are automatic gates into the property with separate entrance into the annex which looks onto a small garden area. There is an outside seating area with a BBQ available in summer. Just outside the door is a wood box which supplies the wood-burner as well as a basket of wood inside. Lots of lovely walks around the property. Short drive to National Trust places incl. the homes of Churchill and Kipling, Sissinghurst & Bodiam castles. Wonderful pubs and villages as well as Royal Tunbridge Wells close by. Ashdown Forest is also a short drive away.

Interaction with guests

Guests can have total privacy if they wish but host happy to help with anything. Host usually available and almost always contactable.

Other things to note

This is a quiet area, very beautiful and surrounded by fields and woodland. We regularly see deer. One can often hear foxes, owls, wood-peckers and other country noises. There are many walks in and around the property. Roads leading to the property are narrow though people do cycle. There is a pond which is fenced and has recently been reclaimed to attract wild-life. I recommend use of a car but visitors have taken the train as far as Tunbridge Wells and then a taxi from there.

Brigid's place is a perfect getaway off the beaten track in leafy Sussex. It's very well equipped, and very quiet. Although the location is secluded it's only a short drive to many places of interest. If the weather turns against you there's an excellent choice of DVDs to keep you entertained. The internet wasn't the fastest but that is understandable given the location. Brigid was a great host, very pleasant to deal with, and her lovely dogs were very welcome when they came for an occasional visit.

The Annexe was gorgeous and in a beautiful quiet country location. It had everything we could wish for and was very clean and top quality. Brigid was so friendly and helpful. It was a pleasure to meet her and be there. Can highly recommend this annexe and will be back.

Brigid is such a WONDERUL host: accommodating, helpful and warm, the cottage is beautifully renovated to the highest standards, extremely tranquil and peaceful with every amenity you need to be totally self-contained. Bathrooms are exceptional, Windows and flooring excellent.

The photos do not do justice to how wonderful Brigid's place is. Sparkling clean, quiet, cosy and in the most beautiful location-long walks in idyllic countryside straight from the front door as well as amazing views of the stars from the bedroom balcony. Brigid, her husband and Flossy their gorgeous, soppy dog are extremely warm, welcoming hosts. They make you feel right at home and can't do enough to help whilst also respecting your privacy-they had set up a roaring wood fire for our arrival, provided fresh milk and oranges alongside tea, coffee etc., helped with suggestions of where to go and we even had the offer of a lift when we got a little lost on our country walk! I cannot recommend this place highly enough and I will definitely be back!

Good shower, but then all is kept at a very high standard. A good Bangladesh restaurant in Wadhurst, worth a visit.

An absolutely perfect location for a tranquil retreat. Great views of the countryside and a wonderful host. Country walks straight from the doorstep in a very secluded woodland area. Plenty of nice pubs a short drive away if you want to dine out, otherwise there is a fully equipped kitchen and outside bbq at the property if you want to stay in and relax. You can also chill out in the garden in your own private space. Two friendly dogs for those who like animals and Brigid is an absolutely brilliant host. Would highly recommend!

Great place. Equipped with everything you could possibly need. I'd never been before to that part of the world but it was exactly how we wanted to spend a bank holiday. The house is so quiet, set in beautiful countryside and close to loads of walks and picturesque villages

Warm, well travelled. Love my family including my two dogs. Love food & wine. Love my home. Enjoy a good laugh. Like quiet times too to read or watch a movie.
