Renat: Guest room is a very comfortable place to have a rest: it's quite, clean and cosy. You can also find there a big map of the world, and it's an exciting process to find and point your own country/city on it. Taya: The room is comfy, with pretty decoration, books and various useful stuff. The fold out sofa is not big, but quite enough to have a good sleep

Anton was very friendly and helpful. His wife greeted me with "one course!" meaning that is all I am allowed for breakfast. I guess she was introducing me to Russian ways and manners with tourists. Most of the time, they were in their room and I would have liked to hear more abou…

Response from Anton:
Karen, thanks very much for your feedback, we appreciate. I usually prefer to not reply on guest reviews, but this is the time I feel I have to provide the answer. First of all, I want to highlight that we hosted a lot of Senior guests here from all other world in their 60s and 70s. We had guests who are much older than your partner (and he is around 75+yo as I remember). We had here a Chinese lady who was 86 years old. Everyone of them enjoyed their room and our place. I want to highlight - Everyone. That was because that they took their time and carefully read the description before booking the place (we clearly mention that the room is small and there is no elevator and we live on the 3rd floor). So they knew what to expect. Ian obviously was not prepared and it also I believe you haven’t read out listing description properly. If our place “squashed for you” - I believe this happened because you just you didn’t do your homework. Actually the whole your stay with us we wondered why you decided to stay here, and it was clear - a hotel would serve much better that our Airbnb, because you are very demanding travellers who definitely in need of 24x7 help. Talking about Breakfast - our breakfasts are free of charge, we are happy to cook for you and we provide a lot of food and a lot of extras like cheese, croissants, jams, olives and many more (you personally never ate it all as I remember). But, we are not a hotel restaurant, and we have one simple rule - one main breakfast dish per person. Cooking is extremely time consuming. All this was explained to you and your partner at the checkin and this rule is written on our menu. And still you decided to violate the rule and ordered more than one dish per person, which we don't appreciate, so may be Julia had to be a little loud to explain it again, and I'm sorry for this - she definitely didn't want and didn't mean to seem rude. About socialising with our guests - we live our normal day life, we have business to do here and there. If we like our guests we are happy to chit-chat or have some tea together. But we never clicked with you and I think that’s okay. You say you wanted to learn “more about our lives and issues about life in Russia.” But you’ve just never tried to ask us about it. We are always happy to share or stories with our guests. You said “The room contained just a bed and no room for anything else” This is true, but kind of true. You had around 50kg of belongings and two huge suitcases with you and you decided to keep all your down jackets and all shoes in your room (not in a hallway closet as we asked you), I think any room will have no room for anything else in that case. And we have several hangers and hooks in a guest room as well as a chair, a table, a closet and many many shelves. At the end I want to thank you again for staying with us, I am sorry if did not provide the service good enough for you and thanks for your small gift, we appreciate. TL:DR (short version) - breakfast is huge here, so order one main dish per person, please - read our listing description carefully before you book, so you know what to expect - If you want to chat with us - just chat or let us seat for tea, this is your and our chance to know each other better.
