Our yacht is 55', with 4 double cabins. Join us as an individual, couple, or rent the whole boat! We include breakfasts, lunches and drinks (inc open bar); skipper, all boat expenses.

Please note, the prices here are PER PERSON, shared cabin.

The space
We've been sailing in the Dodecanese islands and Turkey for over 20 yrs now. Come join us on our floating home! We put together groups of adventurous travellers and take our guests to explore the islands and meet our wonderful local friends - often little places that are only accessible by small boat. You don't need to be an experienced sailor to join us; just pack a sense of fun and adventure!

*** Please note: our price of 160 eur is per person/day; sorry, we don't have a better way to display that in the airbnb system pricing. This includes all boat expenses (fuel, mooring, cleaning, local taxes); it also includes provisioning for breakfasts, lunches and drinks on board. And of course, one (or both) of us as skipper! ****

The price here is significantly reduced from our regular (website) rates - it's coming towards end of season, and we'd love to fill our last few spots!

Our 6 day trips start on Sun am, end Sat am. Our Greece-and-Turkey trips are 10-13 days. You can join us as a single, couple; or bring your own group of friends, and we'll customise a trip for you. Max 8 guests per boat. If you're travelling solo, it's not a problem; we can match you up with a (same sex) bunkmate. We get a lot of solo guests joining us, as it's such a great way to have an instant "family" of friends to explore with.

Yes, it's a bit of an unusual listing ! But our boat being a floating home, why not?? We've been hosting groups of people onboard for many years in Greece and Turkey. It's such a great way to meet travellers from all over the world; living on a sailboat creates fun social dynamics!

We provide provisions for breakfasts and lunches on board; it's up to everyone to pitch in and help make meals. Dinners are not included; we eat ashore in little local tavernas. We even include open bar for Happy Hour!

You don't need to be an experienced sailor to join us; we're happy to show any newbies the ropes. Do be aware that sailboats aren't cruise ships; space is limited, and you need to be the sort of sociable person who loves to be part of a group. For total newbies; Sailing is like Camping on The Water. If that concept appeals to - you'll be on the right boat.

Guest access
Each cabin has it's own bathroom (toilet and shower). These are small, sailboat-sized rooms, don't expect the Hilton. There is a shared galley (kitchen) area, fridges, hot water, etc. (It might be "camping on the water"..... but it's pretty luxurious camping : >)

Other things to note
Some people have been asking us recently how things are in Greece, given the current economic crisis. For us in the little islands - basically, life goes on as usual. Visitors can still access their own bank funds through ATMs; and no, shops are NOT running out of food, as some recent media has suggested ! The worst thing that could happen to Greece right now is for them to lose their tourist income - they need it more than ever. So come on over and support our local friends by spending your valuable tourist euros in our little islands here.

Location

Kos, Egeo, Greece

The islands where we sail in Greece are called the Dodecanese. They are over the eastern side of the Aegean; Turkey is our next door neighbour. Yes, we do sail over there sometimes too!

The places we go tend to be off-the-tourist-track; many of them are not easily accessible from the land. It's a really great way to experience a little taste of "local life", not just as one more tourist on a ferry or whatever.

My partner and I run a small yacht charter business, and this is our home base in Phuket - the gorgeous, off-the-tourist-tracks Ao Yon. We moor our boat here during the dry season, going out for a week or two at a time to take our guests around the islands. We're early/late 50s, but still love living in the Peter Pan world of the sailing biz :). Our place is a long ways from a plush 5* apartment; but if you're the sort of person who thinks "oh yawn, not another character-less resort" - you'll love our place! Despite a couple of new developments in the area, Ao Yon is still a quiet, friendly little beach community. We feel very lucky to be able to live here, right on the beach with million dollar views - at cruising yachtie prices! :) In the main season, we live in the upstairs apartment; the ground floor is open for guests. From April-Nov, we migrate to Greece (where we run our sailing biz there) - the top apartment is available as well then. We pack all our personal stuff in one bedroom, so that it becomes effectively a 1 bed apartment. We're very sociable types, and if we're around when you visit, we'd love to chat and give you all the local lowdown. When we are not here, a local friend looks after our guests; she can no doubt tell you even more about the area!
