Bayside Cottage is a 3 bedroom converted barn which offers spacious accommodation with modern facilities and appliances. It is just a short walk to the beautiful Northumbrian coastline and 1 mile from the historic village of Bamburgh and its castle. NEW FOR 2018 - Guests will have use of the Ocean Club Swimming pool and spa located in Seahouses, (4 miles away) Pool, hot tub, steam room and sauna. Beauty treatments also available.
This is a family holiday home that we share with other guests. It is equipped to a high standard with loads of games, books, DVDs and a fully equipped kitchen as this really is a home from home. Beds and bedding are really comfortable with two well appointed bathrooms. The cottage also has a good sized garden on a couple of levels with views across the bay to Lindisfarne. The Master bedroom has a fabulous super king bed and ensuite bathroom. There is a bedroom with twin beds and a third bedroom that can be set up as either a twin bedded room or a second super king double room. Bedding and towels are included. The lounge is comfortable with settees, floor cushions and a window seat. We have board games, an Xbox and Freeview TV . An electric fire is available for chilly evenings in winter.The large eating kitchen has plenty of room for 6 people and is a great place to share dinner after a busy day at the beach or sight seeing. WiFi is available throughout the cottage. Our mobile phone signal is quite poor due to the thickness of the walls but is enhanced by going outside!
This property is all on one level with parking for two cars directly outside the front door. The cottage does not have any equipment or special adaptations for anyone with disabilities but does have wide corridors, a low threshold to get into the house and no steps between any of the rooms, this does make it an option for guests with restrictions on mobility and the elderly. The patio is directly outside the back door. The garden is fenced all around with a good sized grassy area on a second level.
Interaction with guests
I live about 50 minutes away but have a local agency who deal with any problems that arise during your stay. Whilst I am not there to meet you on arrival you receive clear instructions on how to access the cottage and there is loads of local tourist info, maps and ideas for days out in the literature we leave for guest to browse through.
Other things to note
The real plus point about this cottage is the fact that you have just a 500 metre walk from the front door down to the sea shore. From there you walk along wonderful sandy beaches for as far as your legs can carry you! There are loads of historic and family orientated things to do in the areas and most of our guests leave saying that they needed more time to see everything on offer in the area. Bayside Cottage is just one mile from Bamburgh village which has pubs, restaurants and a few small shops. Seahouses is about 4 miles away and has wider choice of shops and amenities. A car is very useful to make the most of this location although there are buses that operate up and down the coast with a bus stop approx 40 metres from the front door.

During June to September our minimum booking period is 7 nights.
We ask our guests to respect our home and insist on it being a no smoking property. We regret that we do not accept pets to the cottage. We do not charge extra for cleaning but do ask for a £250 good housekeeping deposit which is returned to you within 7 days of your stay if all is okay after your departure.
DAMAGE: Guests are required to reimburse the Owners for costs incurred in remedying any damage caused by the guests. Any broken or damaged items should be reported to the Owners and paid for before departure.
RIGHT OF ENTRY: The Owners/Managers or their representatives shall be allowed access to the property at all reasonable times to inspect any damage or carry out any repairs or maintenance.
CARE OF BAYSIDE COTTAGE: Guests are requested to take care of all furnishings, fixtures and fittings, and keep them in the same state of repair and condition as at the start of the holiday and to ensure that the property is left clean and tidy.
NUMBER OF PERSONS USING BAYSIDE COTTAGE: For the safety and comfort of all guests, the number of persons occupying the property must not exceed the maximum number of six.
SAFETY: All guests should familiarise themselves with the operating instructions provided for all internal equipment. If in doubt, then please ask the Owners/Managers for advice. A contact telephone number for the Owners/Managers will be left at the property. Any toys, play equipment or other external equipment must be (EMAIL HIDDEN)PLAINTS: If guests have any complaints, please notify the Owners/Managers promptly and every effort will be made to address all reasonable issues. The Owners/Managers will not be able to accommodate complaints that are not reported during the holiday.
LIABILITY: If the property becomes unavailable or unusable for some reason prior to the date of the holiday, then the Owners’/Managers’ obligation will be to reimburse the guests for any monies paid.
