It is close to Seal Rocks, Smiths Lake, Myall Lake, Wallis Lake and the Pacific Palms beaches, and National Parks, and a scenic and easy 45 minute drive to Forster. We're centred in paradise!

You will be delighted by the natural setting attracting grazing wallabies, birdlife, reptiles, frogs and other wildlife...every season has a feature!

There's lots to enjoy at Topi Gums while you relax! A kayak on the dam, sipping drinks in the gazebo, a game of pool or table tennis, a barbecue on the deck, a nap in the hammocks or simply sitting somewhere to read or play a board game.

At Topi Gums, every moment surrounds you in the Australian landscape. The bush experience is refreshing and the air is clean.

ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY & ALLERGY FREE: Topi Gums has a low ecological footprint. You will be using power generated on site and water from the rain. Chemical-free products are used where possible to maintain clean and toxic free accommodation.

Your bedrooms will be ready with fresh bed linen and bathrooms with fluffy towels, bathrobes, slippers and guest toiletries.

The pantry has a selection of Twinings teas, Nespresso coffees and condiments. To welcome you, a bottle of wine and other treats will await you.

The Great Lakes of NSW is a region defined by water and is a nature lover's paradise. This beautiful part of the coast has clean beaches, dazzling lakes, national parks and forests and historic rural hinterland. There are great places to visit, eat at and shop in.

Topi Gums is set in a peaceful rural location away from the crowds, but it is close to the beaches and lakes of the Great Lakes region.

Cafes and Restaurants: Fresh local produce and seafood are a specialty. You can also enjoy culinary delights at cafes and restaurants within a pleasant 20 minute drive of the property.

Shopping: Mini supermarkets are 15 minutes from the property. Forster’s mall on Breese Parade has major supermarkets, chain stores and over 75 specialty shops.

Arts & Crafts: There are shops with arts, crafts and beautiful things. One day each month on a set weekend a nearby township holds a craft, fresh produce and specialties market - well worth visiting.

The Great Lakes region holds activities all year round, such as diving, mountain biking, kayaking quiet lakes, trekking through ancient palm forests, whale watching, deep sea fishing, surfing, or just relaxing.
Every season has a feature.

We've been welcoming guests at Topi Gums Bush Retreat since 1994. Together with a small, dynamic team of local people, we ensure you have an amazing holiday house with unique touches. We're surrounded by bush and near the beaches. “We love the Australian bush and being surrounded by nature. The bird sounds, croaking frogs, the summer hum of cicadas, the scent of the bush and the starry nights. It is re-energising and liberating. We chose this place because it gives the 'away from it all' experience. It offers you your own space without a 'next door' neighbour while being near the coast and lakes of the Great Lakes. We love the trees and bush air, and love taking long beach walks along beaches and lakes. Topi Gums gives you the opportunity to explore different places. At the day's end we love returning home to retreat in our own bit of paradise, just in time to enjoy the late afternoon (Hidden by Airbnb) of tiny finches, wrens and wagtail bird. Being at Topi Gums makes us feel that nothing else matters. We’re enthusiastic about sharing these experiences with you. Nature, relaxation, good friends and pets are the essence of life and well being. So, we invite you to come and and relax at Topi Gums. It's an appealing and beautiful place. You'll have the space to yourself, and you'll still feel our warm welcome.” HISTORY: The name “Topi” comes from the Worimi people who occupied many areas of the Great Lakes and the Birrimbai tribe who occupied areas of Bungwahl. “Topi”, means to stay, and “Topi Topi” means to stay a little while longer. It is believed that the region of Topi Topi was not settled by any of the Worimi tribes, rather they travelled through and rested there. So, we invite you to come and relax, and stay a little while longer. Our 3pm checkouts mean that you too can stay a little bit longer.
