Surprisingly spacious accommodation with everything you could need provided, from bedding to a barbecue with outdoor seating in the garden. Ideally situated next to the pub for easy check in and delicious food, great cafe up the road and Haytor Rocks within easy walking distance. We were a family of 3 generations - 6 adults and 3 children (aged 8 weeks to 5 years) and it was perfect.

A lovely cottage, perfect for a group of friends or family. The little garden is particularly great if the weather is good and having the pub on your doorstep is very convenient (good food, and friendly staff who also helped us with check in/out).

We had a fantastic weekend away walking in Dartmoor. The cottage is 10m away from the front door of the rock inn. It was easy to find, very clean, warm and welcoming with wood ready for a fire upon arrival. The cottage itself was well proportioned, much bigger than expected and easily catered for 8 adults. Sue did everything possible to help us enjoy our stay. Thank you.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the cottage, And would recommend this to other large groups. I would mention though for other dog owners that the large garden described is not attached to the house and is opposite and across a road. It is also not secure and connected to the gardens for the other houses along the street. Further from this we found out only on arrival that pets were not allowed upstairs or on furniture. Other than this the cottage was beautiful and perfect size for 8 adults. We found the large table particularly good for board games and enjoyed many of the walks in local areas.

Comfortable cottage slept 7 of our family (and dog). Great location and a really good pub next door with excellent food and service. Reception (via pub) was friendly and efficient. We would definitely return.

The house is in a brilliant location- very quiet, a nice walk to Haytor and next to the Rock Inn. The house was much bigger than we expected with good sized bedrooms. There are two bathrooms- one has a bath with hand held shower in that we didn't use and the other a shower that we all wanted to use! It isn't the strongest shower and when there are 6 people wanting showers there is a bit of a queue. The house is well equipped and the staff at the Rock Inn were incredibly helpful.

a lovely cottage in a lovely location. we were a group of 7 adults (3 couples 1 single) away for a weekend in devon. the place was generally clean and spacious. obviously theres the master bedroom that only one couple can have (we flipped a coin for it and lost!) but the others are still fine. the main problem we found in a large group was the fact there's really only one shower-one small shower room with toilet and a decent size bathroom with only a handheld shower in the bath. the problem is most people want a shower so there can be a bit of waiting around. just bear this in mind. but the bath is nice and comfy if you do opt to lie down and relax. i do have to mention though that one of the couples complained their bed was drooping slightly. the person in the single bed had his feet hanging off the end so felt a bit cold -but he is about 6 feet tall and was in a single bed more intended for children i guess. these were the main comments but fortunately can be relatively easily rectified for future guests. we did manage to cook a breakfast for 7 people so theres sufficient cooking utensils in the kitchen and space in the dining area. just bear in mind you need to plan your food buying in advance-living in a city you expect to be able to buy at any time but obviously round here there are fewer places only open at certain times. if you do feel lazy and don't feel like cooking it's partnered next to the Rock Inn which does really excellent food-we had dinner and breakfast there. Despite the minor issues, i would recommend this place-it's in a great location within driving distance of fantastic walks and views.
