Buchenblatt (Beech leaf) is an stylish Alpine chalet, with two levels. Built by hand, made of red maple and pine and perched on a hill it offers wonderful panoramic views of mountains and trees. It is only a few yards away from the forest pathway.

The space

Buchenblatt has two floors, when you book our home you will have access to the ENTIRE place. There is an entrance on the first floor and one on the ground floor. This is very useful for those who do not want to use the stairs. On the first floor there is a large bedroom with a 200cmx200cm wide Emperor bed, a bathroom, the kitchen, dining area and living room. You can also access the balcony from this level, where you will enjoy beautiful panoramic views of the forests. We have a barbecue outside.
On the ground floor, you will find a bathroom with a shower and washing machine. There are also two bedrooms, one is a Superking size and the other is a very large family room with four single beds. We also offer two travelling baby cots free of charge.
On very sunny days you can sit on the balcony or simply use the terrace downstairs which is nicely secluded and cool. We have a large dining table and comfortable chairs for you to relax alfresco! We also have a barbecue for your use.
Please note that the bed linen, towels and kitchen linen are now included in the rental price.
Included in the rental price you will have access to 2 adult mountain bikes.
Dogs are charged at 10 euro per stay per dog, up to a total of two dogs.

It's a nice and calm place with a magnifique view from the terrace. Everything was fine and Maria was really caring about our stay to be good. Just to note: the house is not too big, so with 8 adults (and some small kids), it can be a bit tight.

We had a very comfortable and cozy time at Buchenblatt. The house is dotted in the hills of Hatzfeld and right by a beautiful wood walk and a scenic sunset spot on a bench in a field. The house has everything that is needed to self-cater, beds are comfy and there's plenty of space for up to 8 people. Lots of things to do in the surrounding area but you must have a car! Thanks and we might come back!

The house is exactly like the pictures tell: warm and cosy, with many details. Great place for family time, equipped with espresso machine, dish washer and other kitchen appliances as well as entertainment devices for the children. Beds and rooms are great, so we would recommend this house to anyone who likes nature in combination with comfort.

The chalet was perfectly clean. Very calm area close to the walking trail. It's a steep walk to get there from the village centre.

Response from Maria:
Dear Kristian, Many thanks for your kind words. We were delighted that you and your family (including doggies :)) had an awesome Easter long weekend at Buchenblatt. The house is, indeed, perched on a hill at the entrance of the forest in a wonderful calm and quiet location offering magnificent panoramic views of the village and the surrounding countryside, but in order to get that view from a height, the walk to the village is short and steep. We think it is the best way to work off the lovely cakes we eat at the bakery in Hatzfeld!!! We would love to welcome you back, any time. Kind regards, Maria

A keen traveller with an over developed taste for interior decoration, I try to get away as often as possible. Speak a couple of languages and am always trying to learn a new one. I have rented my properties across the world for a few years now and have a methodical and practical approach to it; it works!

I have listed three of my most loved properties: one is at the higher end of architectural accomplishment in Cheltenham, Buchenblatt (Beech leaf) is a stylish Alpine retreat for 8 people at the foot of the forest in Germany. In 2014, we added to our listings our Cotswold Lake Lodge "The Rocklight", which offers a stylish retreat by the water.

The most important link between them all is that they offer something truly special that you will not find in hotels; amazing comfort and true character! I hope you will love them too! It is important for guests to realise that they are staying in our homes and NOT in a hotel.

We love hosting and giving guests memorable, unique experiences they can not have by staying in hotels. Personal touches, great art and interesting stories fill our homes and make them very special places. We travel a lot due to work and family commitments, mainly in Europe. It is our belief that our homes are sadder places when they are unoccupied and we like knowing that someone is enjoying and looking after them in our absence. That's, in a nutshell, what drives us to host; we look forward to welcoming you!
