Neighbourhood highlights

Please not that unless otherwise arranged, check-in is after 3pm and check-out 10.00am. This is to facilitate the cleaning staff.
Very quiet countryside but with villages and shopping close by. Several delightful 'villages perchee' are a 20 min drive from the domaine, with the lovely town of Valence with it's pedestrianised 'Old City', full of returns and interesting shops, also a mere 20mins drive. Depending on traffic, the gourmet capital of France, Lyon, with it's excellent Opera House, various theatres and endless restaurants, is less than 2 hours. Grenoble and some amazing ski stations are just over an hour away.

My work: Design Consultant
Speaks Greek, English and French
Design Consultant, advising film shoots, advertising campaigns etc.on but mainly specialising in restoration/renovation of a broad range of buildings, from cottages & castles, to apartments & galleries. 'Have work, will travel', and usually a pleasure. I love to travel - luckily, so does my family, otherwise they could forget what I look like. Hobbies are reading, cooking, travelling, walking, cycling, music, art & film. I like to rent places in different villages & cities, with the pleasure of discovering odd, original, interesting galleries, bookshops, cafes, bars & restaurants. When you buy at a local market flowers for your table, fresh food to cook in your own kitchen, you really experience the life, the rhythm of a neighbourhood. After years of hard work ( my blood sweat and tears really are in the stones ! ) and some truly awful 'builder experience', La Poulatte is ready to welcome guests. It is within easy reach of some lovely villages and small country towns and importantly for travellers, within 30mins drive of a major TGV hub, Valence TGV, Alixan, 26300. Grenoble & it's adjacent ski stations are only 90mins drive, as is Lyon, which, although it bears the title of France's '2nd City, is it's undisputed gourmet capital. I am quite content to share my much loved, comfortable, imperfect, calm & spacious home. Sadly I cannot live there full time - work continues to greatly interfere with my plans for gracious 'Country Living' ! Houses such as the domaine need to be lived in, to resound to the happy noises of family and friends. Old houses should always feel alive, always changing, always the same, always loved. I shall be very happy to welcome you to La Poulatte, still shaded by the same centuries old plane trees, surrounded by the same fertile, living fields, as it has been for hundreds of years.
