Overlooking Lake Warden Nature Reserve, this special place delights bird lovers, and nature appreciators. Relax in a very private room with separate lounge/kitchen. Guest fees support injured wildlife rehabilitation. Enjoy views over a RAMSAR Wetland and bushland. Birdlife abounds (90+ species). Kayaks available. Located 6 kms from town and beaches. Make this your unique and tranquil get-away. Sorry, no pets, no children. Strictly no smoking/vaping anywhere on 10 acre property. STRA-18129

The space
Two private lockable rooms with separate entrance and an outside private detached toilet/shower/laundry. Queen bed with quality mattress and linens, and couch converts to a pull-out twin bed. Smart TV, WiFi, fully equipped kitchen and study desk make this a fully self-contained space. The private bathroom is located outside in a separate room, and accessed via three steps (noted in case mobility is an issue). It's not fancy but clean and functional. Guest are requested to conserve water use (ie. 4 minute showers), as the property is off-grid and relies solely on stored rainwater from winter-time rains.
Kayaks are available to use on the lake.

Guest access
Outdoor BBQ area and access to a shared, enclosed patio which doubles as a bird-blind for watching the abundant birdlife that use the bird bath. Small grassed area doubles as a rough golf putting green, and you can borrow our putter. Feel free to walk around the 10 acre bush block or walk on the Lake Warden Nature Reserve trail to the water's edge.

Other things to note
The house is accessed via a 450 meter laneway. Drive to the end of the turning loop and park in the carport. Plenty of room to securely drop a trailer, caravan or park a bus.
Guests can borrow boogie boards, camp chairs, picnic rugs, beach shelters, and we have a spare bicycle for the adventurous who may wish to ride the Pink Lake (currently not pink) bike trail, or Great Ocean Drive trail between beaches.

Neighbourhood highlights

We are located in a private semi-rural, bush block location, which fronts onto Lake Warden Nature Reserve. As it is a bush block, it is a rustic setting, with gravel driveway, lots of vegetation, and wildlife including insects. Please don't expect city amenities (pavement, sidewalks, etc).
Esperance is a port town, with bulk materials arriving by train and roadtrain into the harbour for loading onto cargo ships. You can expect to hear noise periodically from the trains and trucks no matter what part of Esperance you stay in, as that's the nature of a port town. Thankfully, the singing of the birds on our property is the main source of the background soundscape.
