Reformed ancient charcoal's cottage next to the sea (built in late XIX century)
Currently we are only renting the ground floor (a "Studio" with a single bedroom-lounge, with a bathroom and a kitchen full equipped). It is an ideal place for a couple.
This is an old cottage built in order to support trade of coal produced in the surroundings of Cala Vedella, in Ibiza: Sa casa des Carbó (Charcoal’s Cottage). This cottage was located just at the coast to facilitate the charcoal’s distribution towards the capital (Ibiza), since at that time the sea was the main conveyance.
The ancient Charcoal Cottage of Cala Vedella, also is known among locals as “Ca n’Engràcia” (Engracia’s house) as a consequence of the footprint that this lady left on Cala Vedella. Around 1952. Engràcia and Lluís reached the Cala, they were nature lovers, and activists committed on universal ethical principles (justice, respect …).
Today this old cottage has been adapted so austere and simple. The new design has been conceived to delight short stays in holiday periods or even with the idea of providing all the facilities for retreats that require a high dose of concentration (summer, winter or weekends).

I am passionate of nature, of its legacy and its diversity. I find irresistible knowing new culltures and its historical processes, transformations involving generalized welfare achievements, the worldviews of each person... Surely, I've been influenced by my childhood in this former Charcoal's Cottage, not only my relationship with people committed to universal ethical values, but also my personal experience travelling and working abroad during so many years (Latin America, Africa, Middle East and Asia).
I currently work at the University of Barcelona, as a professor and in a collaboration project with European and Asian universities.
