This is the Homestead Cabin, nearly 100 years old! This is a 1-room cabin with a queen bed, bunkbed, and a private bathroom including sink and hot water shower. Small, but very cozy and comfortable.

1 hr 15 min drive from Grand Teton NP and 2 hrs 15 min from Yellowstone NP.

The space
This cabin was an original homestead cabin on the ranch and is one of 4 cabins at Granite Creek Ranch. Granite Creek is a 5th generation cattle ranch in the scenic mountains of Eastern Idaho. Originally homesteaded in the early 1900's, Granite Creek now consists of thousands of acres. Natural springs feed each of our cabins and ranch house by gravity flow. Very comfortable with an overhang porch and two hammocks right outside the cabin. There is a shared small deck area with benches and lawn chairs. The Homestead cabin sits near a creek and close to our horse corral.

There is an electric heater; some nights can become a little chilly even when warm during the day. Also a small fridge to keep beverages or food items cold during your stay. Private bathroom with hot water shower.

Granite Creek is a very peaceful and secluded area. People often say it feels like going back in the past where time moved a little slower. The immediate area of Swan Valley and Palisades Reservoir are very beautiful for sight seeing. There is a waterfall a few miles from the ranch called Fall Creek. The South Fork of the Snake River runs very close to the ranch for easy access to world famous fly fishing. There is plenty of room at the ranch to park some drift boats.

Just 20 Min from the ranch is Heise Hot Springs and Heise Zipline. The natural beauty and the many activities that can be enjoyed in the area make it a very fun destination. Look in the folder located in your cabin or the guidebook located on this website for more local activities.

During your stay

We try very hard to be there to greet you and show you around, but we are often busy with the cattle and crops. If we are not able to greet you, your cabin is directly to the right of the red and white ranch house(review picture in photos) and is labeled "HOMESTEAD CABIN" under the porch light. It will be unlocked and you can go right in. Please make yourself comfortable in your cabin and feel free to walk around the premise. The kitchenette is the most east yellow building open 24 hours a day and is located to the left of the ranch house on a small hill. We are a working cattle ranch so our family and a few ranch workers will be 'around the ranch' most times, either tending to cattle, fixing fence, working in the fields or other ranch duties. At times we are very busy with work and not able to visit with you as much as we would like to do! But we are always available by messaging for any questions you may have. We have a folder in each cabin sharing our history, the waivers and other "things to know".
