Dar el Khamlia is Guest House - private traditional and authentic house in Erg Chebbi in Morocco, 7 km from Merzouga, in one edge of the village with view over sand dunes and the village. It offers hospitality and serene home, the perfect place for the ones who does not want many tourists around and want to be near the local people.

The rooms are in typical Berber stile with double bed (possibility extra bed). There is the fan when it is warm and stove when it is cold. The bathroom is with hot shower and toilet. From window is nice view over the desert. Rooms are cleaned daily.

Thanks to Addi for taking great care of us during our time in Merzouga. Although challenged by a sand storm during our time Addi did everything he could to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Would love to return during winter to enjoy the desert again.

We arrived very early in the morning and Brahim came to pick us up from Merzouga (the return wasn't comprehended, 35dh in taxi). He organized for us the desert trip with night over and we enjoyed it a lot thanks to our guide Aziz! We came back in the morning and had breakfast whi…

Thanks Felix and Sheila for your stay at Dar el Khamlia and I am sorry about that taxi driver took paid from you, maybe he misunderstood or what, that he would not charge you but us. I can send you this amount if you get me your email address. Regarding shower, it was warm water, and of course, the house is built of the traditional material (mud and palm tree) and to maintain its authenticity we can't do it as in modern houses. I am also sorry if you got impression of not getting warmer experience, maybe Addi is a little shy time to time. But I am glad that you was satisfied in any case. Thanks again. Even for your comments so we can make all better ☺

Brahmin was a wonderful, warm, welcoming and easy going host. Brahims house is easy, but clean and nice. If you have time, ask him to arrange a trip to the desert (Erg Chebbi); I can highly recommend that as well as his Tajine!

Michaela and Ibrahim are perfect hosts: helpful and social. We had a great time with them. The place is lovely and the food very tasty. This was our second time in Merzouga Andre can certainly recommend this one as the best option: more authentic than the "kasbah" between Merzoug…

Our stay at Dar El Khamlia was really nice. Brahim picked us up from the Supratours bus station in Merzouga and drove us to the small village of Khamlia (maybe 7 minutes by car from Merzouga). He made us a big breakfast everyday with an omelette, coffee, tea and delicious fried b…

Response from Michaela:
I want to thank you and Philipe for the stay with Brahim and are glad that you enjoyed there. I am sorry for the hot room, but in Summer it is hot ☺. It is a dilemma because to mount AC it would harm the house and also increase price for accommodation. It may be that it can feel too long to stay for 4 days, but if you do not have a car yourself so Brahim can offer different activities such as riding behind sand dunes, to Taouz, look at old paintings, old kasbah and even go further into the desert against Ramlia etc. In fact even Khamlia village have quite much to do and see. As you look at airbnb webside of Dar el Khamlia so there under you can read that it is not in Merzouga but outside: "Dar el Khamlia is Guest House - private traditional and authentic house in Erg Chebbi in Morocco, 7 km from Merzouga, in one edge of the village with view over sand dunes and the village."
