First the positives. It was pleasant and responsive. She was prompt and good with communication. The negatives were there we had no place to hang up clothes and the place was very dirty. The bed was uncomfortable and there was a crying baby for three daysthat room done the other side of the master bedroom wall. The flat is three flights up and the stairway can be a bit dark and skinny. I wish we would've known about no closet space. Also there really isn't a living room to congregate although there is a study. But that room is dark and we had to use it to store our closest there were no drawers or closets. I would not recommend this place and we would not go back.
We had a nice stay at Lina's flat, which is perfectly located in the heart of Le Marais. She was very accommodating regarding arrival. The apartment was comfortable, though the walk up 3 flights with heavy luggage wasn't the best. The internet worked great and the was as described. There was an electrical issue with the stove, so we shorted the power out a few times while making water for tea. Other than that, all was well!
Getting into the apartment was made very easy and straightforward, and the apartment itself was stunning - light and surprisingly spacious. Everything was exactly as described on the website. The artwork in the apartment was both fascinating and beautiful, and the dining area tempted us away from the excellent local restaurants more than once! The kitchen was easy to use and provided ample space for storing food and wine. The bedroom was very comfortable, and filled with glorious light throughout the day.
The location was extremely convenient. There are several major museums in easy walking distance - we got to the Carnavalet and the Musee de la Chasse, both of which are not to be missed, and the beautiful Place des Vosges is a short walk away. The Marais itself is a wonderful place - the area around the Rue St Claude is fascinating. It is also very easy to get round the rest of Paris, with a Metro station less than five minutes walk away.
This is a very exciting and atmospheric place to stay in, and one that really makes you feel that you are in Paris, the City of Light.
Now this is what living in Paris is all about. The apartment is very spacious for a Parisian flat. You're getting a full kitchen, dining room, living room with two desks and a bedroom. The apartment is in a quiet part of La Marais district with a cafe 20 feet from the front door of the building. There's also metro line 8 just a block away.
You'll receive two gate codes when checking in, one for the exterior of the building and one for the interior. We later discovered there are light switches you can press for the stairwell so you don't have to go up the three flights in the dark :-) The Uber from CDG airport was only 30 euros.
Lina was very accommodating and patient with us considering we booked the place one day earlier than we needed to. She was kind enough to send someone out again the following day to leave us a key to the place. There's cool art all over the apartment, funky painting in the kitchen and a wine opener. What more do you need? We would definitely stay again if she lets us :-)
Lina's apartment is in an amazing location! We absolutely loved Marais! It's a beautiful part of town so close to so many amazing attractions. Lina has furnished her house great, it is really light and airy and there is plenty of art and cool furniture around and makes you feel a part of the art culture in Marais. There are heaps of cool bars and cafés around too.
Great location – fair price for what it is. The apartment is clean, bright, and quite artsy with the owner’s art pieces dotted around that made the apartment interesting and warm. It’s on the third floor up a dark spiral staircase (so be prepared to carry your bags up a good few flights), but when you open the apartment door the light streams in from the central courtyard and windows. The apartment has pretty much what you need - would have liked more towels (there were no hand towels and no bathroom mat). There is a washing machine but no drier. Apartment is comfortable, but the best things are the light and the location. It’s on a quiet street but also close to the main shopping streets and restaurants in the Marais, 15 minutes from Rue de Rivoli, and brasseries on every corner. Once we settled – Betsy was there to meet us – we didn’t hear from anyone during our stay, and enjoyed our privacy and our time in Paris.
