Our quirky studio is situated just a few minutes walk from the beautiful Freshwater Bay. It's ideal as a base for walker's, festival goers or people who just want to get away from all. With its own private courtyard you can come and go as you please.
Lots of recycled and beachcombed materials went into the building of this studio.
There are no cooking facilities in the studio apart from a toaster, fridge, kettle and microwave but there is a lovely cafe a very short stroll away!
Plenty of take-aways nearby too who are happy to deliver.
BBQ and deckchairs for your use.
Bicycles might be free for you (unless we're out on them!)
There's always someone about if you have any needs or problems- just ask!
Parking spaces are easy to find here!
Interaction with guests
There is usually someone about in the main house, but you'll be left in peace and have the studio completely to yourself!
Other things to note
There is an iron and ironing board, a hairdryer and a vacuum available in the studio.
We have two small dogs of our own and lettuce the chicken wanders freely, hence the reason for not allowing dogs.
I will be pottering about in the garage under the studio, but I won't be using the noisy tools when you are in so please use the 'in/out' sign! I sometimes need to use the store to the back of the garage too.
Enjoy the cafe's wine as much as you like, but remember the steep steps into the studio!
If you would like to leave after 10am please ask first as we do need time to do the changeover for the next guests.
Please don't smoke in the studio, but you are welcome to do so in the courtyard.
If you use the courtyard in the evenings for a BBQ please make sure you leave the BBQ in a safe place outside afterwards and turn off the outside lights.
We have a passion for recycling, up cycling and just love making things out of junk!
My wife, Julie and I are easy going and friendly and we like to make the studio cosy and inviting.
We both really enjoy beach combing for materials on the remotest parts of the islands beaches along with our two dogs.
We go away in our camper whenever we can, exploring with no fixed destination and always seem to end up somewhere lovely!
We don't watch a lot of telly as in the summer it's too nice outside and it the winter we'd sooner sit by the open fire and chat, playing cards.
