The cottage is suitable for a single person or couple. Double bed in a "crog loft" only. Broadband wi-fi, wood stove, own parking, set in an idyllic part of Snowdonia with own woodland and instant walking, climbing, cycling, wild swimming, chilling.

The space

It's "cosy and unique" . But you have to decide what makes the cottage unique - just because I think it is doesn't really count. For example some people thought Elvis was unique, or John Lennon (except that he was).

Guest access

You have sole access to the entire cottage but beware of low flying door lintels to cottage entrance, bathroom and bedroom/study. Duck if you're over 5'9''. The cottage has its own woodland and garden (wild), again for your sole use, with the path from the front door leading to the "Zig-Zag" path down to Llanberis.I have a TV licence (but no TV) so broadband telly/iPlayer is OK on laptops/tablets/phones - charger for pre iPhone 5 models.

Interaction with guests

I will either be on hand nearby or always available via email, mobile or landline contact. Normally I'll be there to welcome you.

Other things to note

It might rain. And don't wander off up Snowdon without first checking the weather for the day. I've gone up there in heatwave conditions at the bottom only to hit near freezing conditions on the top when the disorientating mist suddenly came down. But there is a pub at the start of the climb, a cafe halfway up and one at the top. But the train up costs £25!

Pauls cottage was an amazing place nestled in close to mount Snowden. It was warm and cosy and a lovely place to spend relaxing by the fire and checking out the beautiful surrounds. We would definitely recommend!

Paul is a great bloke and he really wants his guests to enjoy their stay! He is communicative, friendly and responsive. Our 3 night stay was very memorable and way too short. Great sunny days enabled us to enjoy the wonders of Snowdonia and the touristy towns not far away. The bed is so comfy and the house is crammed full of character. We enjoyed our conversations with Paul and are so thankful for his sharing of this wonderous cottage with us. I highly recommend you book right now!

Response from Paul:
Colin and Theresa were the perfect, much travelled, Ozzie guests who made the best of the little time they had to spend at the cottage and were my first guests so far to come face to face with the magnificent feral mountain goats that tend to wander through the cottage woodland and nearby Dinorwic quarry. They won't forget that experience in a hurry.

Beautiful little home, Paul was extremely welcoming leaving us a lovely bottle of wine and after 8's as we were on our honeymoon. He was also extremely helpful with transport and knew before we did that our boat over to Wales had been cancelled! star host

Paul was very welcoming, gave us a good tour of the place and a whistle-stop tour of his family history, and left us with plenty of wood for the fireplace. This is a very unique cottage with interesting features, including a fire and an eco-toilet (as long as you can find the sawdust ;)). It is at the top of a track that winds down a nice walk to Llanberris so is well located.

Response from Paul:
Eco-toilet? The plaque in the loo and the sawdust bit is a joke (which not everybody actually gets)...The walk down to Llanberis is known locally as the Zig-Zag with good reason. It's steep and stunning. Only do it if you're fit and wearing walking boots. The alternative route down through the woods is much less of a challenge and just as beautiful - it just tales twice as long.

Paul's cottage was perfect for a few days away in Snowdonia. He is extremely helpful, accommodating and full of information about the surrounding area. Definitely recommended.

I live in a tiny, but very cosy, former quarryman's cottage above Llanberis, facing Snowdon. I am frequently away from the cottage so it is made available during those periods - often Friday to Monday long weekends. It is set amongst a small community of like minded individuals and families who live here for all the usual things - trekking, cycling, running, climbing, ski-ing, kayaking, allotments, wood stoves, bees, pigs, chickens, dogs, horses, hens and cats. And magnificent roaming feral mountain goats.
