This is the house where I use to live, so I love it. It's unique. In the summer time if I have to leave I like to leave the house to somebody also because I have a cat!! That's why I keep the prize low.

Vanessa's house is in a fantastic location right at the front of Anguillara's very handsome old town and is bigger than the pictures let on. Arrival was easy and you immediately feel part of the house and the town, and are a literal stone's throw from Lake Bracciano. The nearby restaurant, La Nepitella is a genuine find, superb food. As other's have commented the roof terrace of the house is a treat with the town above and the lake out in front waiting for a sunset. The house is full of music and books but also quite a lot of other stuff and so is more like staying at a friend's house than in a holiday rental. It could have been a little more spic and span. You will need to look after the very friendly cat, feeding and letting it in and out as necessary. The bathroom could do with updating.

Vanessa was always responsive with any queries. Her house was even better than the photos portrayed - you simply can't describe just how beautiful the sunsets were from the roof terrace! Anguillara Sabazia is a beautiful town - picturesque, and the locals very friendly, including her cat :-)

Me and my husband and our two daugters (9,3) were astonished by the Vanessa's house and environment there. We love Anguillara Sabazia and the place we stayed in for 4 nights. Vanessa was really helpfull and friendly. My kids miss the cat Francesco already very much, as do we.

Definitely a beautiful house, a few steps from the lake. An old, historical building in a historical city, and however there's no airco, the temperature can be regulated with the shutters , catching some wind from the lake. Considering the price, you get a large house with a terrace on the roof with view over the lake, and all the services you need. Vanessa was on holiday in Paris, so we never saw her, but was always reachable and made sure we felt at home. Her hospitality is great. The only downside of the house I might mention is the quite minimal bathroom. We love cats, so we spoiled Francesco (Vanessa's cat) who came every now and than for food and attention. Overall, we had a very pleasant time at this place. Thank you Vanessa.

Response from Vanessa:
Thanks a lot for your suggestions! I will try to follow some, the bathroom is one and there's no way to enlarge it but I will change the beds in the bedroom! Thanks a lot for Francesco :)

We found the house fairly easily as we had already made sure we knew basically where it was, however, the owner's cat heard our suitcases rolling down the cobbles and ushered us to the door! He knows!! The house itself was large and literally had everything one could need. Location was brilliant being a few meters from the lake and all the restaurants. Town of Anguillara is a beautiful maze of ancient buildings and cobbled streets which lead up to a pretty church at the top of the hill, fantastic views all round the lake from there. We went just after Christmas and the town was quite buzzy all day and most of the night and had a daily market. If you are staying a few days make the most of trip by hiring a car if you don't have one to visit other towns and attractions. Buses seemed to be a bit hit and miss and the train station is a fair distance from the house. There are lots of places around to see which I think can only be visited by car. There is an orange bus which goes around the town and to the train station and a blue bus which goes to Bracciano, not sure of their regularity though. Vanessa was very easy to get hold of if necessary and answered email/messages very quickly. As said, the house had everything you would need for your stay and more, it did feel more like staying in a friend's house than perhaps a holiday apartment and it was very homely. Thank you Vanessa, we enjoyed our stay and your home is lovely.

Vanessa is fabulous! She was extremely helpful and very accommodating. She was very responsive, and came to meet us when we couldn't find her home. She took us on a quick walk to point out her favorite bars and restaurants in the town, and the next day she provided us with breakfast including homemade bread. She also gave us her opinions on different cities and helped us select the next area we travelled to. The house is located in a very cute town, and it is literally a 30 second walk from the lake. It was about 45 driving to there from the airport, and it's an awesome alternative to staying in Rome if you arrive in Italy at night and aren't interested in the large city.
