The private cottage with covered deck overlooks our extensive gardens and a pastoral meadow that is surrounded by forest. It is a relaxing environment that is only minutes from rivers, bays, or beach activities.

The space

We are the original designers/builders of this property. The 12 x 28 cottage space with covered deck, is separated from the main house to insure your privacy. Each large window is a picture frame of our gardens. Our guests are welcome to sample the bounty of our vegetable garden area. The main room has a queen sized bed. The full size bathroom has a shower and features a washer and dryer. The kitchen area has a sink, microwave, mini- refrigerator, toaster, coffee pot, and teapot. We furnish fresh, locally roasted, coffee and a selection of teas. The covered deck around the cottage provides a dry and secure area for bicycle or kayak storage.

Guest access

Guests are encouraged to wander about the gardens and may also enter the greenhouse. Doug would be delighted to give you a tour of his woodworking studio.

This place is great. Read all the reviews, they are all accurate. Doug and Lyn are lovely people. We stayed an extra night because we felt so at home (and Shadow, the cat, wanted an extra cuddle).

This is one of those stays where you are super sad that you only booked one night! So do not book one night!! Book more! Lyns and Douglas house and garden is truly beautiful. The apartment itself is very private and the perfect place to wind down. Lyn decorated the place with fresh flowers (love!!!) and provided coffee, tea, two types of milk, yoghurt and fruits. Thank you so much! :-) It is super clean, cozy and inviting. The deck in front of the apartment is huge and you can sit there, sip your tea and look out into the trees and listen to the birds sing. Yes we loved it and hope to be back!

Douglas and Lynn were great hosts. The communication before arrival was great and their directions were very helpful. The place was amazing and every detail was carefully thought of. It was also exceptionally clean. The amenities in the house were plentiful and we also had some great conversations with them. Overall, this place is highly recommended.

We loved Lyn and Doug's place! It's even more beautiful than the pictures show. They were so kind and helpful and even found a way for us to get some De Garde beer when the brewery was closed. We only wish we had more time to explore the grounds (the garden is amazing!) and hang out in the area. We couldn't believe what a good value this was since it was both beautiful and spacious, and Lyn and Doug were amazing.
