Self-contained annexe attached to 16th-century house. Two spacious rooms (double & triple) with views over a pretty walled garden. Shower room and kitchen. Plenty of parking. Self-service breakfast included. Peaceful location.

The space

The single-story annexe (on the far left of the main photo) is attached to our family home and has its own entrance so you can come and go as you please. Dating from the 1950s, it comprises two light and spacious south / west facing double bedrooms, hall, shower room and kitchen, and is surrounded by a large walled garden.

We provide freshly-laundered bedlinen & towels and each room is equipped with a double bed, sofa, table, wardrobe, television/DVD player, hairdryer and Wi-Fi. Both double beds have new Silentnight Easycare Deluxe mattresses (medium to firm) and we use White Company bedlinen. There is limitless hot water from the combi-boiler and the central heating is on an automatic timer, which you can easily override if you need a warmer or cooler room.

The small kitchen has a microwave, toaster, kettle and fridge and is stocked with tea & coffee plus self-service breakfast items (fruit juices, cereals, toast & preserves, fresh fruit, yoghurt, pastries). Note that the kitchen does not have a cooker or washing machine.

There is plenty of parking available on our driveway, directly outside the annexe.

This south-facing room is light and spacious and has a double bed. Views out over the walled garden.

The second bedroom can sleep up to 3 people, having a double bed plus a single sofa-bed which has a proper mattress. (Note that the single bed will normally be presented as a sofa, so let us know when booking if you would like it to be made up as a bed). The large picture-window faces due west and overlooks the herb garden.

Bbookings for 2 people or fewer will have the use of only one of the bedrooms unless by prior arrangement, as there will be a small additional charge.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome (by arrangement).

Guest access

During the warmer months, you are welcome to sit outside in the garden. There are tables & chairs in several places on the lawns.

We have two spare bicycles available in case you're feeling energetic! Please let me know in advance if you wish to use them, so that we can get them ready for you.

Interaction with guests

We offer a warm welcome and local information as required, otherwise we leave you to enjoy your stay without interruption. We are always available to answer any questions.

Other things to note

The annexe is all on one level, so should be suitable for people with limited mobility. Do contact us to check any specific requirements.

For your peace of mind, your bedroom has a lockable door.

My hosts Penny and Alister were very welcoming and so lovely. Nastend House was a little haven and a very happy stay.

Nastend House is a beautiful property and Penny's directions to the property are spot on. Penny and Alistair are wonderful and very thoughtful hosts. We absolutely enjoyed our stay in their home. We would love to stay at this home again, hopefully on a longer trip to the Cotswolds.

The listing was easy to locate, and was just as described. Our host Penny and her husband made us very welcome, and offered useful tips for exploring the village. Very well appointed accommodation.

This was the best AirBnB stay I've ever had! Penny has a gorgeous home surrounded by a beautiful garden and yard. The annexe attached to the side of the house is very cosy and comfortable, so much so that we would accidentally sleep in every morning! The bedroom is quiet, with no noise coming from other rooms or the main house, which is awesome. Also when you awake in the morning, you are greeted by birds and squirrels hanging around the front yard. Penny and her husband greeted us in person and even gave us a little tour of some of the rooms in the main house. They let us use their washing machine and clothes line, and would provide a fresh supply of breakfast food in the annexe's kitchen every morning. Penny also wrote up a guide of the surrounding area with suggestions of what to do and see, and where to eat and shop. We weren't disappointed with any of Penny's suggestions at all! Penny is an awesome host. I would highly recommend having your own car to get around with, because as Penny mentions in her description, the place is quite rural and public transport would be an issue. But the main reason to have your own car is so you can visit all the great places nearby! Being the UK, there are lots of little towns and interesting attractions nearby and the furthest we drove was just over an hour to Oxford. All in all, we had an absolutely wonderful time staying at Penny's and I would definitely come back again for another visit.
