Neighbourhood highlights
Thanks to its geographical position in the heart of Tuscany, Villa Mimmina is the perfect location and ideal starting point for exploring the most important historical and cultural centres of the region. It is located in the flat area at the foot of the medieval borgo of Civitella in the Valdichiana. We are in the area of Valdichiana Aretina, a low mountain area located in the extreme extension of the Tuscan Pre-Apennines, crossed by the river Arno. The Valdichiana is a wide valley that extends south-west of the province of Arezzo, and includes the provinces of Arezzo and Siena, in Tuscany, and Perugia and Terni, in Umbria. Once named "the granary of Etruria" due to its fertile lands which favoured the rise of Etruscan settlements, today it is an area rich in artistic, cultural and food&wine attractions. Cortona, Monte San Savino, Lucignano and Castiglion Fiorentino are some of the towns near the villa that merit a visit. Well served by the A1 motorway, the Autostrada del Sole, (with the Arezzo exit about 5 km away), from the property you can also easily reach the main art cities of Tuscany, such as Arezzo (13 km), Siena (62 km) and Florence (70 km) as well as the area of the best-known red wines in the world: Brunello di Montalcino and Chianti Classico, which are just an hour away, the first one, and half an hour away, the second one, by car. Villa Mimmina is located close to the town of Pieve al Toppo, the main reference point for supermarkets, bars and restaurants. About 3 km away is the famous Arezzo Equestrian Centre, one of the largest and most important show grounds in the world dedicated to horse riding and various equestrian activities Thanks to its geographical position in the heart of Tuscany, Villa Mimmina is the perfect location and ideal starting point for exploring the most important historical and cultural centres of the region.
