Situated next to the river Alde, this 17th century converted barn has been the home of a small hold pig and sheep farmer for over thirty years. Although retired, there are still farming activities taking place on this naturally beautiful four hectare farm estate.

The space

The house is a very much a lived in home. There are 2 double bedded bedrooms available for rent and a large drawing room for your private use. Local highlights within a 30 minute drive are Snape Maltings concert hall, Aldeburgh beach, Southwold town, Framlingham castle, Woodbridge tide mill and town, Eastern Farm Park.

The farm although retired from being a working pig farm still has some rare breed pigs, sheep and lambs and chickens, from which daily eggs are produced for breakfast, and two labradors. We also grow Christmas trees. Visitors are welcome to walk anywhere around the farm.

Guest access

Guests can make themselves at home using all amenities. There is a separate private living room with television which can be used. Guests are also welcome to walk around the farm and get to know the animals.

There are two bedrooms, both have double beds. And also a large living room space free for visitors to use, it has a TV in it and access to the garden. Additional beds can also be set up in here.

Other things to note

There are excellent pubs nearby and supermarkets in the nearby towns but no shops or pubs in the village. Framlingham has a busy Saturday Market

A smile on his face and a warm handshake. Location hard to find but worth the effort.

We stayed at Rupert and Sally’s farmhouse which is filled with character and charm. We were made to feel very welcome and even Maggie our dog was entertained by Rupert’s dog. Sally managed to cook us all a lovely breakfast even though their cooker had broken..... lovely hosts

My elderly father and I stayed at Rupert's for one night before attending a family funeral nearby. After a long and tiring journey we arrived late and rather hungry since the local pubs stop serving food at 9pm on the dot! Sally and Rupert were warm and welcoming, rustling us up a delicious omelette made with their own eggs. Our beds were warm and comfy and we really appreciated the electric blankets which had been turned on before our arrival. We were travelling with our two dogs, who were made as welcome as we were, and the following morning we enjoyed a lovely walk around the farm and surrounding fields with our dogs and Maggie, one of the resident labradors. Talking to family after the funeral the next day, I heard my dad comment that it was the 'best bed and breakfast he'd stayed in in years' .

We just stayed a couple of nights while visiting family in the area. Rupert and Sally were great hosts, very welcoming and accommodating and provided us with good breakfasts too! Charming farmhouse in the depths of the Suffolk countryside.

One of the loveliest Airbnbs I've ever stayed in! Rupert and Sally were such great hosts. We had an extra person staying, but they made us very comfortable. We were there for a wedding at Bruisyard Hall, which is an easy walk away, and it was lovely to be able to relax in such nice surroundings before and afterwards. Sally made us an amazing breakfast in the morning, which we ate out in the garden in the sunshine, and we got to play with Maggie and Rosie, aka the nicest dogs in the world. Highly recommended for a lovely peaceful stay in a beautiful bit of the countryside!

Interaction with guests

Rupert and Sally are in and out of the house throughout the day depending on weather. They would be able to prepare a home cooked breakfast including home produced eggs and bacon for guests.

Guests are welcome to walk around the farm and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
