The space
Huskisson B&B
The BnB is a 100-year-old original Australian historic house, with high ceilings and wide verandahs, modernised as a comfortable B&B.
Over the years, our BnB has become known for its creative, eclectic style as well as its relaxed atmosphere. We have won awards and been featured in magazines, as well as the prestigious Sydney Morning Herald's '52 weekends away'.
We are now running two rooms as private, self-contained guest suites. We don't serve breakfast anymore, but there are lots of great cafes 3-5 mins walk away including great coffee and an excellent food van across the road.
We no longer offer guest access to the main house but you do have your own exclusive screened-off dining space in front of your room on the verandah.
The Porch Room
A lovely, airy, beach-style room with a super comfy queen and direct access from the verandah.
The room has a small fridge, kettle, coffee pod machine, microwave and toaster.
There is a smart TV, Netflix and free fast WIFI. We can arrange a small desk and office chair for you if you need one for work or writing.
Free parking is right next to your room.
Table and chairs on your private section of the verandah.
Lovely ensuite bathroom with a clawfoot tub and overhead shower & heated floor.
We are an eco-friendly ('green') B&B: we line-dry all cotton linen, solar hot water and we recycle everything we can. We have ceiling fans and air-conditioning. Everything you need is provided - huge bath towels and white cotton linen, duvet/doona and wool blankets for cooler nights. Heating and electric blankets for winter nights.
Huskisson
We are very close to the hub of Huskisson - just a 3-5 minutes' level walk to everything: the dolphin and whale cruise wharf, ferry, sea pool, heritage 'tiny' cinema, restaurants, several cafes, bakery, bank, gorgeous boutique clothes and homeware shopping, dive centre, parks, walking and cycling tracks, national park and all the beautiful white sand beaches.
Jervis Bay
Jervis Bay's beaches have some of the whitest sand in the world and crystal-clear blue waters. The bay is calm and safe for swimming. The Moona Creek lagoon is a walk away. Eucalyptus forest comes all the way down to the edge of the sand on the beaches. The huge bay is a Marine Park and has visiting whales (June to November) and a pod of resident dolphins you can see all year. The national parks have kangaroos and there are even wallabies on the beach sometimes. There are sugar-gliders and possums and incredible parrots, lorikeets and cockatoos living in our garden. Jervis Bay really is like paradise.
This area doesn't have great public transport but there is local bicycle hire with plenty of great walking and cycle tracks for you to explore as mentioned above. There are some buses in summer, but if you really want to explore the national parks and everything Jervis Bay and the Shoalhaven have to offer, it is best to drive or hire a car.
Very sorry but we don’t take kids anymore. Ideal for couples or singles - there is one comfy queen bed only.
Guest access
We will give you the code for the key safe. You have direct access to the room from the front verandah. There is a private verandah area for you to sit right outside your room. There is no access to the internal common guest sitting-room anymore. We live in the main part of the house so there may be other people coming and going. There is another guest room called the Verandah Room at the other end of the verandah (other corner of the house)
We have a friendly rescue Labrador called Alfie who lives in our part of the house - he never goes into the guest rooms but he might bark occasionally and he might visit you on the verandah.
During your stay
We live in a separate area to the B&B room. Your room is entirely self-contained (no kitchen but a microwave, small fridge, toaster, pod coffee and kettle) and completely private. We are mostly around or contactable if you need anything.
Other things to note
We are an established BnB with two queen rooms.
We don't provide breakfast but there are numerous excellent cafes 5 minutes walk away and a terrific food van across the road.
We are in a residential zone so we do ask for our guests to be very thoughtful about neighbours.
The Porch Room has its own private direct access entrance and parking by your room.
We live in the main part of the house but your room is private.
Guest no longer have access to the main house (used to be common guest areas) but you do have your own private dining area on the verandah.
We have a chocolate Labrador called Alfie who lives in our part of the house - he never goes into the guest rooms, but he might bark occasionally and he might visit you on the verandah.
