Come stay with us on our permaculture farm just a few minutes walk from K59 & K61 two of El Salvador's best crowded surf breaks

If this room is booked, please check our other room listing.

The space

We would love to host you on our permaculture farm, just minutes away from some of best waves in El Salvador.

If this room is booked, please check our other room listing.

THE ROOM. The space is a double bedroom in our 2 bedroom surf cabin. Your large bedroom (4 x 3 metres or 13 x 10 feet) has a double bed with a new and comfortable mattress and pillows. The room has ample storage, as well as simple art & furnishings from our travels around the world. Your room has two windows opening onto the patio & garden. The room is simple, comfortable & clean, a perfect place to relax after a surf, or a base to explore the surrounding area. As travelers, we know the value of a comfortable bed & cosy place to stay.

We can accommodate twin share or whole house rental as well, just ask us :)

The room opens out onto a communal patio with hammocks, a shared al fresco kitchen and toilet & shower.

SURFING. The beach is a few minutes walk from 3 different surf spots: the famous K59 (a right hand point break which works in both small and large surf), K61 (a long right hand wave perfect for beginners and longboarders), as well as a beginner beach break.

There is also a tide pool on the beach which is great for swimming and sunset beers.

FACILITIES. Our house is designed to take advantage of shade & sea breezes, and as such we have fans but don't have air conditioning. As the weather here is always warm, we don't have/need hot water.

FOOD. The cooking facilities are simple, with a double gas burner for cooking, a large, new refridgerator and traditional moulded concrete sink & washing area. Pots, pans & kitchen stuff is all yours to use.

Jesse is also an excellent cook & we can supply your evening meals if you prefer not to cook. Typical meals we offer include slow-cooked beef tacos, fresh fish cooked over our fire pit, Baja style fish tacos & Thai green curry. Often guests prefer to look after their own lunches, then have us cook a communal dinner. This of course is 100% up to you! You're welcome to use our kitchen.

ABOUT US. We are two Aussies who ditched 9-5 life in Aus to start a small surf lodge & permaculture farm here in El Salvador. We are travelers so love to meet people from all around the world & all walks of life. Our property is still a work in progress, so you'll generally find us working on a new garden, landscaping, fixing, repairing things or drinking a cold one if we're not surfing. You're more than welcome to get involved around the property if you want, there are always projects on the go!

INTERNET. At our place you can detox from the online world & enjoy the simple life. We provide basic internet only (emails) through a hotspot with download limits. If you want to be connected full time during your stay you can easily purchase a SIM card (Movistar or Digicell) for a few dollars in La Libertad to get cheap 4G on your mobile devices. Just let us know what you need - we can help you get set up.

Guest access

There are two small tiendas (shops) just next door, where you can buy some necessities. We also do a run in the car to La Libertad a few times a week should you need more supplies, or to visit the supermarket, seafood or farmer's markets.

Interaction with guests

We are very respectful of your space & amount of interaction you prefer. We are experienced Airbnb hosts and are here to help make your stay in El Salvador as enjoyable as it can be.

There are ample private spaces to use, around the house and garden.

Other things to note

The following surf breaks are nearby; El Zonte (10 min by car/bus, beginner through advanced, sometimes crowded), El Tunco (15 minute by car/bus, beginner through advanced but often crowded), Mizata (30 minutes by car/bus, no crowds, intermediate through advanced). As well as these major surf spots there are tons of surf spots littered along the coast where you can surf all day.

We absolutely loved the surf farm. The pup was adorable and the sweetest dog imaginable. The place was like the perfect paradise getaway. The hosts were not there, but their temporary replacement was very hospitable and generous to us. Fell in love with it. Definitely worth going to and would completely recommend.

Our stay at the surf farm was awesome. India and Jesse built a fantastic (URL HIDDEN) clean and spacious, nicely decorated, quiet and it's in the middle of a lush garden/farm with a dog, chickens and frogs. You got everything you need there, ample space to chill and read, a well equipped kitchen etc. The owners weren't there, but Hunter and Laila did a great job replacing them. The village vibe is great if you are looking for surf-and-chill time and the surf spots close are easy to reach! During our stay, we were unlucky and didn't have the best conditions but we definitely recommend their little place for surfers (arrendamiento non-surfers) and would come back for sure!

A bit disappointed because the hosts were not there. The noise is an issue with the highway so close. The lush green garden isn't so lush in the dry season. Great rooms, easy to use outdoor kitchen, nice yoga hut, beautiful dog, short walk to an awesome right hand break.

We had an awesome stay at the surf farm! Just a short walk to the waves and really great accommodation! The kitchen and the yoga shala were wonderful perks, Perla the dog is a sweetheart and the bed is super comfy. Mark (hosting while Jesse and India were away) was rad and we were sad to leave! Be back soon!

The surf farm is more than just a great place to stay. It is a small paradise, where the surf is amazing, the people are wonderful and the nature is beautiful. The room was very clean, the kitchen was well equipped and the host was very friendly and helpful. The garden is beautiful with a yoga area and a lovely dog Perla : ) This is a place I would highly recommend and where you definitely want to go back to after having stayed there!

I had an amazing time. Love the farm, love the people, love Perla the dog and love the waves. It's such a perfect place if you're looking for a relaxed time in the middle of the nature. See you again! I'll come back one day.

We really loved the place: the bedroom was big enough for both of us, the mattress and pillows were very comfortable. Traveling together we usually look for private bathrooms but the shared bath and shower with the other party were just what we needed. The outdoor kitchen is very nice, has everything you need and makes cooking a pleasure. The surroundings are very natural with birds singing and you have an almost private beach with good surf that even during December holidays doesn't get crowded. There's a simple restaurant on the beach that sells good sea food. The Surf Farm is a little further from bars and restaurants (El Tunco and El Zonte) so it's perfect for people who like a really chilly vibe. We didn't meet India and Jessie but their friends in charge Claudine and John were amazing hosts. They helped us renting surf boards, showed us around and shared with us a lovely New Year's Eve dinner.

India User ProfileIndia is a superhost.

Jesse and I are two Aussies who decided to escape the 9-5 grind and buy a block of land at a beautiful surf beach in El Salvador. Since 2014 we have been working to turn our acre of land into a surf lodge & permaculture farm, and are excited to host through Airbnb in 2015. We hosted for several years in Australia & loved it (please check out our reviews!).

We didn't know much about El Salvador before visiting, but we fell in love with the place and the culture, as many travellers and surfers do. It's a rugged and beautiful land with a coast dotted by amazing, uncrowded waves & relaxed people.

Prior to turning our acre of land into a surf lodge/permaculture farm, I was a university research fellow & Jesse was a white water rafting guide/landscaper. We have always been travelers & love music, food, wine, surfing, being active and staying relaxed.

Being travelers we understand the value of a comfortable bed and a place to chill, which is why we are listing our room. We are more than happy to give you pointers on what to do and see around El Salvador!

Please see our reviews - we have more than 70 positive reviews for our previous property in Cairns, Australia. We look forward to seeing you in Central America!
