Mountain and valley views

Soak up the views during your stay.
Welcome to Racetrack Cottage – your country escape with a difference. If you are looking for a peaceful stay in beautiful countryside, but with a twist, you have found it! The Racetrack Cottage sleeps 6 in 3 gorgeous bedrooms. Decorated in a tasteful racing theme, with full kitchen, dining and lounge areas, you are on a winner!

Kick back on the front veranda or enjoy a bbq and a spot of backyard cricket for the more energetic. For larger groups, book the Stables Cottage right next door too.

The space
The Racetrack Cottage reflects its name and location, and is styled with tasteful horseracing-themed décor and memorabilia. Spacious open plan living allows guests to mingle around the large dining table, relax in front of the woodfire or both front and rear verandas deliver additional space to kick back.

Both the full kitchen and laundry (with washing machine and dryer) allow you to easily complete the necessary domestic chores or ignore them until you get home. Three spacious bedrooms share access to the two bathrooms and the main bathroom has a full-sized bath.

Guest access
When you stay at the Racetrack Cottage you will have the entire cottage to yourself. You may hear people in the adjacent Stables Cottage – only about 5m away - and if you are traveling in a larger group, we encourage you to book both Cottages.

As you will be staying on a working horse stud, it is important that you drive slowly and carefully around the property. It may sound a little strange, but at Gooree Park, horses have the right of way on our country lanes. We want to ensure you have both a memorable and safe stay with us.

Vikki will be on hand to welcome you to Gooree Farm Stays, explain the different aspects of the Cottage, and how to make the most of your stay. Please don’t hesitate to contact her by telephone if you have any questions.

Other things to note
Children: Please be aware the Cottage is not fenced and is open to light traffic. As this is a working farm with workers moving livestock including thoroughbred horses and cattle children need to be supervised at all times.

Pets: As the Stables Cottage is not fenced, pets are not allowed. If you are travelling with a furry friend, consider booking our Grazier’s House or the Orchard Cottage as they are both have secure fencing surrounding the property.

Safety on Site: Please drive carefully and slowly when you arrive at Gooree. The road to the Racetrack Cottage takes you past many horse paddocks and yards. Slow down and enjoy the views of the beautiful thoroughbreds.

Carparking: There is ample onsite, free parking including an undercover area at the rear of the Cottage for 3 cars.

Neighbourhood highlights

Located adjacent to the racetrack on Gooree Park and approximately 8km from Mudgee, Racetrack Cottage is in the very heart of a large working horse stud. Snuggle up in bed and listen to the distant thud of horses’ hooves as they come down the racetrack straight working up a sweat during their morning track work.

The Racetrack Cottage delivers peaceful views over the horse yards and you can stroll up to the Yurt for gorgeous sunset drinks or picnic and stunning views over the surrounding countryside.
