I would like to respond briefly to Adams review, by which I was very surprised. Although I do not blame Adam for noting that the radiator in the bedroom did not work during his stay, I do feel that he misrepresented the situation and my response to it. After initially informing me of the issue, I asked him to try and reset the boiler. After he replied that he would give that a shot, I never heard anything from him till it was time for check-out, letting me believe that the issue had been fixed. The communication with Adam was actually very pleasant during his stay and while (what I thought) addressing the issue. This is why I was so surprised by his review. Initially, he let me believe that despite the radiator did not work, he was comfortable nonetheless and there was no urgency for him to have it made. He literally messaged me: “As an aside, it does seem like the radiators in the bedroom aren't working. I made sure to open them, as you said in the guide, but they don't come on. Anyways, it looks like it should be warmer this week, so no problem; just a heads up.Cheers, Adam” A little later, he let me believe the issue had been fixed, replying: “Thanks Fleur, the power is back on, so we're all good. I'll give the boiler reset a try. Cheers!” He never got in touch after that to inform me that the heating still was not working. Only after I contacted him about check out, he responded that they had been cold and had moved the mattress to the living room! I really wish Adam had reached out directly to inform me that the boiler test did not work and that they were uncomfortable so I could have sent a plumber to fix it. Instead of just stating in the review that I was unresponsive to his trouble. Also, unfortunately, Adam in turn left the house messy and dirty. Dirty dishes everywhere and multiple garbage bags in the living room.
The location is amazing. It's on a quiet street yet very close to the centre and the museums. Fleur was very quick to respond to any questions and left a great list of recommendations that we found really useful. As others have mentioned, the stairs are steep - but in central Ams…
