Downstairs is the private master suite (East). Entry via the glass panelled door and mudroom through to a lofty Queen bed with double French doors, leading out to the north facing lawn. East has it's own set of keys for French doors and window locks hanging just inside the glass panelled door.
Upstairs are two bedrooms (North and South) separated by the bathroom. Of course, the Queen sleigh bed and all our beds are made using fine spun 100% cotton 500 percale white sheets - luxuriously comfortable. Do let us know your preference for a super king bed or two king singles in the South bedroom so we may have everything ready for your arrival. Need extra beds? In the wardrobe are two single fold-up rollaway’s, plus a 4-1 portable cot and high chair.
For additional guests above the 6 people included, there's an additional fee per extra person, per night. The 4-1 portable cot with hanging mobile and high chair is always available and free (BYO cot linen).
Completely green and off-grid sustainability with rainwater harvesting and solar power yet all the facilities of mobile coverage, high-speed internet, Smart TV, Netflix, Googl Chromecast, stereo and a selection of CD’s and DVD’s.
There are books to read and board games to play inside as well as bocce/petanque/boules to play outside together on the lawn. Follow the hand-drawn map around the farm, through the olive groves, past the deep dam to try and reach the bus stop - but will the bus ever arrive?
At the head of the olive groves is a 6 metre diametre fire pit. Bench seating for a crowd and 4 wooden garden chairs with 8 outdoor cushions to make it really comfy. Plenty for everyone to have fun, hang out while enjoying all the space in a relaxed environment.
Cascade Cottage is fully insulated. By turning on the large ceiling fans we find air conditioning is not required. For natural cross-ventilation, all the bi-folds in the loungeroom can be opened as a single door or folded right back to take advantage of the afternoon sea breeze.
In the cooler months you’ll be as warm as toast in a jiffy from the fuel-efficient wood combustion fire. Paper and matches are in the pantry to start the fire, plenty of kindling and logs felled from our farm are at the ready. Perfect for a wintery evening with a glass of red – our measure of bliss :)

Less than an hour away from the hustle and bustle of Brisbane and just 5 minutes to Dayboro township. The cottage has everything you’ll need to make your stay memorable. Bring your walking shoes to hike in D'Aguilar National Park (North near Mt Mee or South near Mt Glorious) or just put your feet up and soak in the serenity of country living - far away from the fray!

Cascade Cottage and Birdwood farm is exclusively yours to delight in the peace and quiet of real country living — securely and safely! The key to the single lock up garage panel lift door is with the main set of keys. There are two hard standing bays between the cottage and phoenix palm. Additional cars can be parked anywhere along the gravel drives.

We've placed a compendium in the lounge on the side table that lists everything you'll need to fully enjoy the peace and quiet of country living with all the luxury you deserve!
We are totally off-grid but that doesn't mean we compromise on quality or convenience with all mod cons available. That means all electricity and water is generated on our property, including wastewater treatment and logs for the fire - completely green and a very VERY small carbon footprint.
Cascade Cottage is fully insulated and by design, achieved a 5-star green building rating. We find air conditioning is not required, just passive, natural ventilation. Cooling the house is a breeze with 3 speed large diameter ceiling fans in all bedrooms and living areas to create wind-driven ventilation. When opened, the shutters upstairs create stack-ventilation, drawing air from downstairs which sails up and out of the open vents and windows. For cross-ventilation, all loungeroom doors can open as a single door or folded right back to take advantage of the afternoon sea breeze.

Stay for longer or work from home, Cascade Cottage is your home away from home - heaps of pantry items and cleaning supplies all available, glad wrap, alfoil, baking paper, washing up liquid, dishwasher tabs, spare washing powder, softener, stain remover, sanitizer...complimentary toiletries and office items just in case you've forgotten something :)
