Ideal for exploring London, the Studio has its own kitchen, shower room, as well as separate sleeping and sitting areas. Check out the photos. And we live right beside the Studio if help is needed.
We're located in a Central but quiet area, restaurants, pubs, shopping are just a few minutes walk. We are very close to Underground and main line trains, buses, and just a short walk from Hyde Park. Oxford Street is just one (Marble Arch) or two (Bond St) underground stops away.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Studio. Guests have exclusive use of the Studio with its own private kitchen and bathroom. The Studio is equipped with a washer/drier, dishwasher, combination oven (grill/convection/ microwave), iron, laptop safe. Shared use of the patio.
Guests can cook for themselves, or make use of the complementary breakfast supplies provided daily.
We are located a short walk from Paddington Station, which is the destination for the Heathrow Express & Connect services from Heathrow Airport. The Express service takes just 15 from Heathrow.
Hyde Park/Kensington Gardens are a 5 minute walk. Oxford Street and the West End a few (bus or Underground) stops away. There are 4 underground lines within 8 minutes walk, as well as Paddington Mainline. Waitrose supermarket is just five minutes away.
Bayswater is well served by shops selling useful things – there are many banks, bureaux de change and cash machines on Queensway, as is the Post Office, and Boots the Chemist (open until midnight).
Whiteley’s Centre (Queensway) is the local shopping emporium, and contains shops such as Marks & Spencer, Zara, H&M, Gap, and The Body Shop. Waitrose is the best local supermarket on Porchester Rd and is open until 9pm each evening except Sundays when it closes at 5pm.
Westbourne Grove has more interesting shopping options and as the Grove reaches Notting Hill the shops become more exclusive and expensive. Westbourne Grove is also the route to Portobello Rd - famous for its weekend antique market.
Local recommended eateries within walking distance include Patisserie Valerie (Viennese style café on Queensway), The Frontline (modern British on Norfolk Place). Masala Zone serves modern Indian cuisine. There are several Chinese restaurants on Queensway (near Queensway station), with The Royal China famous for its Dim Sum. Pizza East is on Portobello Rd is also very good but is a bus ride away or a 25 min walk. New Pizza restaurant just opened (Nov 2016) on Porchester Road which we have to try.
There are many other restaurants locally including many chains including McDonald’s, Burger King, Pret a Manger and Bella Italia. There are also several very reasonable Indian restaurants.
Local pubs include The Porchester (corner of Bishops Bridge Rd and Porchester Rd), The Redan (Queensway) and The Albert (Queensway). Most pubs serve food at lunchtimes and in the evenings.
Guests have full (and exclusive) access to the Studio and its amenities, as well as the shared outside Patio.
Interaction with guests
We are happy to supply information about public transport and getting to places of interest etc. The rest of our flat adjoins the Studio, so we are usually on hand if needed. But mostly we leave guests to get on with their holiday.
No smoking inside the Studio.
Our neighbourhood is a quiet residential area and guests are asked to respect that.
The Studio is located at basement level down some steps from the street. It is therefore not wheelchair accessible.
