The space

An architect designed, beautifully restored and tastefully decorated 15th century stone built wharf building overlooking the majestic Arno River. Located on the second floor in the heart of the ancient historical centre of Pisa.

This magnificent 120m2 apartment has original wooden beams, terracotta tiled flooring ( cool in the summer and cosy in the winter) and furnished to a very high and funky standard. The ceilings are approximately 4 metres high and this lends a real elegance and grandeur to the space. The dining room and kitchen overlook the river and the famous Ponte di Mezzo where the annual Giocco del Ponte takes place each June during the Pisa festival as well as the huge firework display which takes place on the day of San Ranieri, the 3rd Saturday in June. The lounge is in the middle of the apartment and has a wonderful fireplace and parquet flooring. At the back of the apartment are the two bedrooms each with a view into the historical centre of the city. One bedroom is a double and the other has two single beds. The bathroom is great, like a 5 star hotel.

Just a few steps from the apartment are a wealth of bars, restaurants, shops and art galleries. The world famous Leaning Tower is just a 10 minute walk away. Being so central, the apartment is perfectly located for the train station and for a quick 15 minute taxi ride to the airport.

Also: should you be interested, I can organise some great sporting activities for you ( I am a keen mountaineer, sailer and surfer ) ; eg - kayak, rafting, catamaran, wind surf and skiing. Just let me know. Sandro

To signal the historical events of the June Pisano: the Luminara di San Ranieri (June 16), the Historical Regatta of Saint Ranieri, the patron saint of the city (June 17) and the Battle of the Bridge (the last Saturday in June), which consists in the parade along the river the historical parade, attended by over 700 participants, and the battle on the Ponte di Mezzo involving a fight between the two historical teams of the city north and south.
