The howlers are curious and I swear they like Reggie music, but they don't come too close, they are shy and busy eating or sleeping, or howling! The dinning area is open and breezy, a lovely spot to enjoy your meals

The House sits 12 ' high in the jungle canopy over the River. Howler monkeys, bird watching, 20 mins. from the international airport and central to everything: Ruins, Temples, ATM caves, Cave tubing, zip-linning, horseback riding, Belize Zoo, Crook Tree Bird Estuary, Howler Sanctuary, bicycles, canoe - in a beautiful natural setting
NOTE: During the Ruta Maya, a major event in March (the dates change) hundreds of people come to the village for the day - it will not be so peaceful.

There are several things that are extremely misleading about this property. 1. The biggest issue I had is that guests are required to fill out a form inside a booklet with their personal information for the Tourism board to ensure taxes are paid on stays. The book stays at the ho…

Erika has created a beautiful retreat in a quiet, well located village in Belize. The cabin is quite private, yet with exposure to the elements which we loved. She has done a great job of preventing mosquitoes indoors! Our only complaint was that the local bar has weekend and ho…

Hello Glori The partying is not the norm - you can see how peaceful the house is outside of the holiday season by reading other reviews. As the Howlers not being there any longer - that is absurd. Here is my review from the guest that left the day you arrived: Decemb(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) at 8:50am Diana M Truly awesome wildlife! Staying in the Tree House for 4 nights was great! We enjoyed seeing more than 35 species of birds. From the Montezuma Oropendola, the Collard Aracari, to the small American Redstart. We got a lot of great pictures right from the balcony. We even canoed up river to fish and saw Crocodiles. The Howler Monkeys were really cool to hear and see. It was an enjoyable stay we would do again. We also took a day to go see the Mayan ruins. We planned to see Altun Ha but at the advice of our driver and tour guide Kenny Williams we went to see Lamanai. The trip up the New River was such a nice boat ride in the morning. Seeing more birds and Crocodiles on a beautiful river was great. Kenny and Shauna really took care of us with any needs we had and we highly recommend using their services. Polite and professional! Can't wait to go back! This review is the subjective opinion of a TripAdvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

If you are looking for a unique experience in the jungle, this location is for you. Small house that is great for a couple. If you are 3 or 4 you had better be good friends, the bathroom is in the main bedroom. We finally saw one howler monkey one hour before we checked out. …

Our plan for our time in at the Howler House was to ride bikes, canoe, and visit the Mountain Pine Ridge Reserve. When we showed up, we were told that there was only one bike, the river was too high to canoe, and the reserve was closed. Kenny did bring us a new bike, which was ve…

One of the bikes was given to a villager to use for the day, by previous guests and not returned in time - however, a second bike was hustled up as fast as possible, the day you arrived, and a NEW bike was delivered to the house the very next day - but, you left. The canoe and dock are just fine - it is the high river that prevented canoeing. This is why the price for staying at the House is half the normal rate for the 7 months that the river is beautiful to paddle. I immediately phoned Kenny when you complained, and he assured me he would give you a free trip - and he did. The normal cost for your transportation to the water taxi is $100.00 - I responded on the phone, and I responded by a message. You choose to leave without communicating with me? As for the distance to locations - as advertised, the house is in a little village called Burrell Boom an hour's drive to the city, 20 mins to the airport, 40 mins to the zoo, 20 mins to the Baboon Sanctuary, 5 mins to the Black Orchid Resort, 15 mins to Bacab park, 10 mins to the biggest racetrack in Belize, right in one of the friendliest little villages in Belize -- and right on the most beautiful river in the country, surrounded by birds and amazing wild life, Howler monkeys in the trees and all the peace and quiet a person could want ....

I spent four years and every cent I earned building a little dream house on the river bank in a village in the jungle in Belize, I guess that says something about me. I love my house and I loved the challenge of building this unique little rental business on the banks of the…
