Enjoy the relaxed elegance of this divine getaway with stunning views within the iconic Majorca Building. Indulge in a pre-dinner cocktail before you head down into Melbourne’s famous laneways for the best cafes, restaurants and bars that the city offers. Everything is easy walking distance. Discover your Jazz Age soul as you experience the city through this beauty born of that intensely creative and joyously liberating era.
The space
The Martini Suite is an entire apartment for you, or for two, on the fourth floor of the Majorca Building (1930). The high ceilings and large windows provide wonderful light and views to enjoy the centre of Melbourne at its best - night and day. Bifold doors and block-out curtains close off the bedroom if you want the sleep-in, otherwise we suggest you revel in the space imbued with the style and glamour that the exterior demands - without sacrificing the modern comforts you’d expect. The compact bathroom has both bath and shower and the kitchen is fully equipped to deal with an over-enthusiastic shop at the nearby Vic market or liquor store. Cocktail anyone?
There is a little balcony that overlooks Centre Place off the bedroom. The basics of ground coffee beans for press or stove-top, black and herbal teas, sugar, salt, pepper, good olive oil, some mixers and olives are provided. There are convenience and liquor stores as well as the Vic market close by should you require more.
High quality body wash, soap, shampoo and conditioner and all towels and linen are supplied.
Guest access
The apartment and the wonderful views are all yours to enjoy. Entry via the secure entrance foyer, with lift and stairs shared with other residents, so please be respectful of others and comply with requirements set out in the guest book and by signage in the foyer and common areas.
Other things to note
Taking our cue from the exuberance and fabulousness of the 1920 -30s era, we’ve provided the finest glassware, dining and kitchenware, linen, furniture and toiletries possible. We also provide some reading on our favourite things - food and booze, art, architecture and writers of the era. Please enjoy and let us know if you have any suggestions to add to the experience.
