Guests often search for this popular amenity
Nestled along the upper reaches of the Clyde River (the cleanest and most pristine waterway in Eastern Australia) lies the Clyde River Retreat – a haven of beauty, peace and tranquility. The perfect place to stay if you want to visit Pigeon House, The Castle or any of the other spectacular locations in Morton National Park or Budawang National Park.

We have 3 cabins for rent on 90 acres, for up to 16 guests.

The space
The Clyde River Retreat is surrounded on all sides by State Forest and National Park, kilometres from the nearest neighbours (other than the native wildlife) it is a perfect place to get away from it all.

With over half a kilometre of river frontage, the retreat is perfect for fishing or swimming in the Clyde river, bush-walking in the local forests, or for use as a launching point for exploring the surrounding national parks.

For artists, writers and musicians, the retreat offers something unique – an unspoilt environment and a simple lifestyle that will recharge your creative energies and enrich your artistic endeavors.

The retreat has three separate cabins that can accommodate up to sixteen people – perfect for special-interest groups who need a place free from all distractions from the outside world.

Or for anyone who just needs a place of unparalleled privacy and seclusion, to de-stress or de-tox periodically.

This listing is for the Carisbrook Lodge - 3 bedrooms, accommodation for up to 8 people. One bedroom has a queen bed, one bedroom has a double and a single bed, and one bedroom has three single beds. There is a fully equipped kitchen, an internal toilet, and a bathroom with bath and shower. Laundry facilities are also available.

See our separate listings for the other cabins on the retreat - the Budawang Cottage (2 bedrooms, accommodates up to 6 people) and the Didthul Cot (1 bedroom, accommodates 2 people).

After 40 years working in stuffy offices, we decided a tree-change was in order. Now, as full-time managers of the Clyde River Retreat the work is physically more demanding, but the rewards and job satisfaction are far greater - we get to live in a really peaceful, beautiful and unspoiled part of Australia, and we also get to meet some wonderful people! We would love you to come and experience it with us.
