We had a fantastic stay in Chestnut Hill. The house was charming, and within easy walking distance of the shops, cafes, and restaurants. Our children loved having a backyard to explore. The hosts provided coffee and other conveniences on arrival, which were great to have to ha…

I was right at home in Michael's home in Philly. A big 'ol beauty of a house in a fantasy neighborhood. I slept in the little "attic" bedroom, alone most of the visit, I was cozy safe and warm surrounded by the best books! It felt like home. They are painstakingly restoring the …

We had a great time staying at this home in Chestnut Hill. Matthew could not have been more accommodating, leaving bread, fruit and other food in the fridge for us, while also keeping in touch with us throughout our stay. The home was clean and neat and the kitchen was well sto…

Response from Matthew:
Glad you enjoyed your stay and thanks for your comments! Yes, our house was built in the 1860's so it's quite old! I agree that the bathrooms on the second floor could use an updating. As you may have noticed, one bathroom is in the midst of a complete renovation. The other bathroom was last renovated in the 1980's so it could use some updating as well. It is next on the list but it is fully functional and we clean it regularly. We like the old world charm of the third floor bathroom with it's clawfoot bathtub, wood floors and marble sink, so we plan on keeping that as is. We recently replaced the toilet and bathtub fixtures and had the bathtub refinished, so everything is working and kept clean.
