About this listing
A quaint one bedroom apartment located in the heart of the town. A truely historical experience with lush towels, cosy linen and comfortable couches. The apartment is in the front section of an original Whalers Cottage dating back to the 1850s.
Our accommodation is a one bedroom apartment which is situated in the front 2 main rooms of this large 1850s whalers cottage. It is completely self contained, private and separate from the main rear residence. There is a large bedroom with a queen bed and in the living room one of the couches is a sofa bed so it can accommodate another person/child. Through the passage way there is a living room with a large bench, sink, small fridge, coffee machine, toaster, kettle and microwave. There is complementary tea, coffee and a small milk bottle as well as drinking water. The kitchen does not have cooking facilities but we are minutes away from restaurants and great coffee shops. The kitchenette is located in the lounge room with the couches. There is heating in both rooms but it is not central heating so it may take a little while to warm up when you first arrive. We live in the back section of the cottage and use a side/back entrance. When guests arrive I arrange to leave keys and guests can let guests collect them. Late evening arrivals are no problems as well as many of our guests are visiting the Great ocean Road. Most contact is done through this website but guests can contact me anytime with queries. I will usually drop over and say hi to see if everything is ok but sometimes I don't catch up with our guests as they are busy with all the nice things to do in this little town. I also like to respect their privacy so I can be contacted via phone or this website if needed.
The apartment is located in the front section of the cottage. The keys provided will open the front door. Guests can drive in and park in the front yard.
Interaction with guests
Most contact will be done through this website as sometimes we are working or away. Keys will usually be picked up from a location that I let the guest know of before they arrive. Usually I don`t greet the guests as most times guests arrival time can vary or be late. I can be contacted via my phone if there are any queries.
Port Fairy is a very safe and friendly town. Its strengths are its sense of community and many locals volunteer to assist with festivals and community events. Its very safe to walk around at night time and at dusk you can experience all the birds flying around at the front of the cottage. On the coffee table inside I have provided information of local touristy things to do as well as some important phone numbers you may need during your stay.
