Janne's home has a nice big living space for gathering. He was very accommodating of our late arrival (1:00 AM) and left a candle burning for us on the front porch. Master bedroom is very comfortable. 1 child's room has a nice loft space with bed under near, 2nd child's room also has a loft space. 4th bedroom is a pullout couch. We were 3 couples with a 3 year old child and found the sleeping to be a bit challenging, but other wise the home is very comfortable.
Janne's house is exceptional, and was a perfect fit for us. We were a group of 6, 4 adults and 2 kids, traveling abroad. We were met at checkin by Lise who gave us a tour and was super helpful with things to do and go see. The house has plenty of room to spread out and relax, and enough sleeping areas to accommodate a very large group. Inside, the kitchen is well stocked with dishes and cooking utensils, a TV in each room, and games for the kids. There is one main bathroom upstairs, and a "hidden" toilet room right off the kitchen. There's a washer and dryer down in the basement - but use only 1 at a time otherwise, the fuse goes. Outside, its nice and quiet and perfect for kids with a trampoline, football goal, a playhouse. We enjoyed the firepit each night, sitting out under the twilight late at night. The house is about 15 minutes from Visby in a super quiet area across from a large, open field. There were several times we stepped outside the house to find it absolutely silent - no crickets - no people noise - no cars - just perfect stillness, and we loved it!
A lovely house in a lovely town. We were all in love with the house and wish we could've stayed longer. A word of advice, it's better to have a vehicle with you rented or your own, when you reach here, since the nearest grocery's or restaurant isn't walking distance and the bus timings aren't very frequent. But apart from that, the house itself is charming, even better than as seen in the photos and Janne is a very helpful host and replies promptly. Thanks for letting us stay!
We had a great stay at Janne's house, where he lives with his two daughters. The house is really spacious, very nicely decorated by Janne who is a carpenter by profession, it's much bigger than the photos show. Our two older kids (4&6) were thrilled with the rings and rope ladder in the upstairs play room and had a great time kicking the footballs around the garden and tending to the rabbits. Visby is 15 minutes drive with everything you need. Location great for touring all areas of Gotland. Had a really great week there.
