My stay at David & Mabi's place was just what I needed after a long flight and while I adjusted to the altitude. I was welcomed by Mabi with open arms and introduced to their beautiful children. I moved rooms as I was after more windows and this was no problem for David. I was included in family outings such as the markets with Mabi and later to their land where they are building an amazing mud brick (Adobe) home. I was shown how it is done and had a go at filling the gaps with stone and mud..we later shared an amazing lunch together. I also went with the family to an orphanage which was a very special afternoon. Visiting Urco ruins and the Inka museum was another highlight. Culca is a very traditional and non tourist town so it's a wonderful place to immerse yourself in the culture. Thank you so much David and Mabi for your opening your home and sharing your knowledge of the area.

AMAZING experience. I came for 4 days and stayed for three weeks. David & Mabis house is really ideal, comfortable, quiet, beautiful, close to town, and they are just incredible, kind, supportive hosts. Thanks for everything!

Great host and nice and quiet place. This was my third time at David's Place, and it has been a great experience, as usual. It's really a pleasure to share with David, his family, and the interesting type of people who usually stay in David's place. It feels like home, even though you are in the middle of the Sacred Valley. 100% recommendable.

We had a great stay with David and his very welcoming and helpful family. The garden is beautiful, filled with flowers, a fire pit, hammocks and patio furniture to enjoy the surroundings. The rooms are comfortable and one even has its own fireplace! We found it very pleasant to interact with the other guests like extended family. The only downside was that in our room there was very little natural light.

I am a retired designer/builder of custom adobe homes from New Mexico, USA. I have a Peruvian wife and two small children. My bookshelves are full of books that reflect my interests in ethnobotany, ancient cultures, shamanism, architecture, religion and philosophy to name a few.
The first seven years of my "retirement" were spent traveling in South America and beyond with Cusco as my base. I then settled in the Sacred Valley and opened Casa Willkamayo for like-minded travelers.
