Extra spacious
Guests love this home’s spaciousness for a comfortable stay.
Created as a place to slow down and reconnect with nature, Tootie Creek House sits amongst the eucalypts in the Wollemi National Park.
Only 90 minutes from Sydney, it’s a retreat where everyday life is replaced by fresh air and the rhythm of the bush. Spend your days exploring nearby trails, or simply relax and enjoy the surroundings.
Spectacular canyons are within an easy drive, and a beautiful swimming hole is hike-able directly from the property.
The space
A private retreat surrounded by National Park on 3 sides, thoughtfully designed to sit within its natural surroundings. Tootie Creek House feels immersed in the landscape, elevated amongst the trees. The house offers a unique connection to the bush, with native wildlife often passing through. Kookaburras, wrens and king parrots are regular visitors, and if you're lucky, you may even spot one of the local koalas.
The open-plan kitchen, dining and living area is the heart of the home. Surrounded by views of the bush, it's a space designed for slowing down. Cook a leisurely meal, curl up with a book, share a wine by the fire or simply watch the changing light move through the trees.
Comfortable furnishings, thoughtful details and a strong connection to the outdoors create a relaxed atmosphere that feels welcoming and lived-in. French doors frame the surrounding bushland, while the sandstone deck extends the living space outdoors.
The deck is one of our favourite places to spend time. Start the day with a coffee amongst the trees, listen to the morning birdsong, or settle in with a drink as the afternoon sun filters through the canopy.
Sustainability has been an important part of the home's design. Passive cooling helps keep temperatures comfortable during warmer months, while the slow-combustion fireplace provides warmth throughout winter. The property runs on rainwater and uses a composting worm septic system to minimise environmental impact.
Both bedrooms feature comfortable queen-sized beds and views across the surrounding bushland. Blackout shutters, fresh mountain air and the quiet of the bushland make for a restful night's sleep.
Tootie Creek House is personally hosted by us, a local couple who manage and care for the property ourselves. From guest communication to preparing the house for each stay, we're hands-on behind the scenes while ensuring guests enjoy complete privacy during their time here.
If you have any questions before booking, we'd be happy to help.
Guest access
A short drive along the fire trail brings you to the house, where there's plenty of parking available right outside. While the road is unsealed, it is suitable for most 2WD vehicles.
The property itself spans 12 acres of largely untouched bushland and blends seamlessly into the surrounding national park. Guests are welcome to explore and enjoy this special landscape during their stay.
Other things to note
Tootie Creek House is located in a semi-remote bush setting, we recommend bringing sturdy closed-toe shoes like hiking shoes and practical clothing.
For bookings of two guests, one bedroom will be prepared for your arrival. If you'd like to use both bedrooms, simply let us know before your stay and we'll happily make up the second room for a small additional linen fee of $50.
For those looking to cool off after a walk, a beautiful swimming hole awaits approximately 3km from the property.
Our property offers a wonderful sense of space, privacy and seclusion. While you'll feel immersed in nature, there is one neighbouring home nearby. The properties are well screened for privacy, although you may occasionally hear typical rural sounds, such as farm equipment or animals.
If you're planning to bring your dog, please note that the property is not fenced.
