Extra spacious

Guests love this home’s spaciousness for a comfortable stay.
Located 1hr 40min from Canberra, 3.5hrs from Sydney & 10mins from Harden/Murrumburrah this farm stay is a uniquely renovated granite stone shed, built in the 1880s as a stable which takes full advantage of the beautiful surrounding countryside. It is fitted with all mod cons with lots of space inside and out. Stroll down a country road, sit on the raised deck with a glass of red watching the sun set. Enjoy the wildlife and farming life. Ahh the serenity!

The space
The Stone shed consists of a main room which extends to a raised deck facing north and looking over the fields of wheat, canola and grazing merinos. This room has a queen size bed and kitchenette with table and chairs. The renovation of the roof has enabled skylights to be installed and bring light into the high pitched roof. The second room featuring a large window overlooking the garden, serves as a TV room with a sofa that folds out to a queen size bed. There is an ensuite off this room. There is also a covered verandah along one side of the stone shed. An ideal space for a musician looking for a rehearsal space!
Plenty of room for horse floats and trailers.

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire Stone Shed and can enter by both the verandah and the deck side. They will drive in the main entrance off Holman Rd and follow the roadway around the back of the main house to either the shared entrance or the deck end of the Stone Shed.

Other things to note
The bathroom services the TV room and the main bedroom. There are 2 steps up to the main bedroom which also serves as a kitchenette space opening out to the deck and a hooded barbeque at the far end. Visitors can use the microwave inside or cook on the barbeque located conveniently on the deck a couple of steps from the kitchenette. This means we don’t get cooking smells through the main living area. The property is part of a working farm so visitors should be mindful to 'leave gates as they find them'. This is common policy on any farm as otherwise we may have wandering stock visiting our garden. Please be mindful of our privacy around the main house. Viewing of the main garden is by arrangement on the day. There are some great walks that can be taken around the property. Please contact us for further information if you want directions.

Neighbourhood highlights

The Stone Shed is situated on a farm, 8km from Murrumburrah and 28km to Young. There are 2km of good all weather gravel road from the asphalt to the driveway entrance. it is not necessary to have a 4 wheel drive vehicle. It is a very peaceful surrounding on the edge of the expansive garden surrounding an 19th century farm house. With quiet country roads, beautiful gum trees and expansive views of the surrounding countryside, the noisiest thing you will hear are the birds. There is cropping and sheep on the farm and it is not uncommon to see the odd kangaroo or wallaby or hare hopping through the garden in the early morning mist. Enjoy the fire pit with wood supplied. You can see the lights of Harden in the distance at night.
