Start your morning right with the french press.
Close to everything the Great Ocean Road has to offer, yet tucked away on the beautiful Curdies River lies Villa Mala.

15 minutes from both Port Campbell and Timboon, Villa Mala is set on a beautiful 1.5 acre sustainably built property 150m from the famous Boggy Creek Pub, and just 300m from the river boat ramp and recreation area of Curdievale.

The perfect spot to relax under the setting sun and enjoy the sounds of the local birdlife after a day of adventuring.

The space
Villa Mala is on the second floor above our garage. The main house where we reside is just beside that incase you need anything, or have any questions. The residence has been built out of mud brick and reclaimed timbers, and is quite interesting in itself.

It is equipped with a small kitchen which includes gas stove/oven, microwave, and everyday essentials including coffee/tea facilities, spices, oil, etc. The living room has a smart TV and Bluetooth speaker to enjoy. We try our best to do right by the planet, and use environmentally friendly products in the space, including quality bamboo blend linens.

Feel free to wander the gardens, pop into our blacksmithing workshop and say g'day, or enjoy an outdoor fire or BBQ in your alfresco area.

Since moving here in December 2021, we have been converting various garden spaces to organic veggie gardens, which we are more than happy to share! Guests can enjoy fresh eggs from our chooks, salad greens, and other seasonal veg (depending on availability).

Guest access
Guests can park right in front of Villa Mala, please note there are stairs to climb.
Guests have the access to their own alfresco area out front, as well as a small balcony to enjoy the setting sun.

We live and work on the property, so are here to help or give you a tour of the place. We will be mindful of your space, but please don't hesitate to find us if there is anything you need.

300m down the road is a boat ramp and recreation area. A great spot if you want to go fishing, kayaking, boating, etc. The river takes you all the way to the estuary in Peterborough.

Other things to note
We are happy to accomodate for dogs, but please keep them on a leash and don’t leave them unattended for hours in the guesthouse.

If you are bringing a pet, please make sure to add that to your booking when you request to stay. There is an extra $35 fee for pets.

We also have two friendly dogs - Mogli (7 year old GSP) and little Ravi (1 year old Brittany spaniel). They like to say hello to who comes and goes, especially if you have four legs - please make sure to leave the gate as you found it as we don’t want them wandering off.

Neighbourhood highlights

Located on the Curdies River, the small community of Curdievale is surrounded by beautiful farm countryside. Quiet and peaceful, there is only a handful of houses, the Boggy Creek Pub, and the local recreation area/boat ramp.

A great central location to explore the coast, Timboon, Warrnambool, and the artisan food trail that encompasses the area.

If you enjoy fishing, bring your rod and throw a line in. There is good number of bream, perch, and a few other species to be caught.
