We provide Bothy style accommodation in an old converted barn. It is somewhere to cook, sleep and shower. We are situated in a beautiful central location. BEDDING IS NOT SUPPLIED. We can supply bedding bundles at £2 pp[sleeping bag, liner, pillow].

The space
For all your sight seeing, hill walking and general outdoor pursuits requirements we provide muddy boot-friendly accommodation. OUR AIM IS TO FREE UP YOUR BUDGET FOR THE FUN STUFF AND NOT WASTE IT ON THE LYING DOWN STUFF.

As a travelling mountain biker, fisherman and general outdoorsy type, it always struck me how little budget muddy boot friendly accommodation there is in this country when Scotland, England and Wales have it in spades. So speaking as an outdoor pursuits enthusiast I don't need doilies, trouser press and a row of stars on the front door of my accommodation. Just somewhere warm, dry a good shower and at a reasonable price. We already have a fishery here where there is a small campsite but for those doing something more physically demanding, a tent isn't always the first choice. this is where our converted barn "BURT'S BOTHY" comes in. It is old and not fancy but it has a solid fuel stove for heat and cooking, a hot shower, 6 beds, a TV and playstation. No doilies or trouser press and the only stars you might see will be in the night sky. We have secure lockup and wash bay. Bedding is not supplied, but for those who are traveling light and dont have sleeping bags, bedding bundles can be supplied at a cost of £2 pp. They consist of a sleeping bag and liner[double or single] also pillow and pillow case.

Guest access
Guests will have access to our on site fishery various Sperrin hills walk ways, mountain biking in Garvagh forest and spectacular panoramic views of Co Antrim. We are only a short drive from the Giants Causway, Bushmills Distillery, Carricknarede rope bridge, Dunluce castle, Ballintoy harbour and the surrounding area. Also on site guests will have there own private car park with bbq area and outside seating. There is also a secure lock up for bikes etc.

Other things to note
Wood, peat and coal for the stove are provided free of charge [within reason]. Excessive use will be charged at minimal cost. There are also several electric heaters for those who are not comfortable with lighting and stoking a fire, There is a £1 coin meter on the wall that run these. Please note that this is an old building with minimal renovation hence the low cost so please don't come with elevated expectations, we don't want anyone to be disappointed.

Location

Garvagh, United Kingdom

WE are nestled in the foot hills of the Sperrin hills with views right over co Antrim. The town land is called Glenullin {glen of the eagle} and is just over a mile away from the old market town of Garvagh. It is a hill farming area with a strong sense of community and a relaxed pace. While there are lots of things to do the area lends itself self very well to just kicking back and soaking up the solitude.
