Enjoy Australian bush in a private house on our farm, a historical sugar farm featuring the remains of the Invicta Mill vault. Appreciate wildlife birdlife and farm animals, picnic and fishing. 25 km from Bundaberg, a vehicle is recommended. Pets OK.

The space

Whether you want to relax or explore, this secluded setting offers the perfect getaway. Located on an historic sugar property, explore the remains of the mill, vault and haul tracks. Hike along the riverbank or stroll along the headway to enjoy the river and farm views.

The house is ideal for couples or families with or without pets. Queen bed, fold out double bed (rather comfortable) and single beds are available. Travel cots can also be provided upon request.
Fully self-contained kitchen, BBQ, TV.

The most southern tip of the Great Barrier Reef starts at Bundaberg and stretches over 2500km with shoreline in this region.

Own transport is recommended if you wish to explore the region. Pickup from airport, bus or train can be arranged if you wish to enjoy our location exclusively.

Guest access

Fully fenced yard and house, access to fishing and picnic spots and walking trails. Access to most areas on the farm will be explained upon arrival.

Interaction with guests

Contact with hosts is as little or much as guests desire. Being a working farm, we will continue required tasks during the day but may be available to share tales in the evening. There will be times when we are absent from the property.

Other things to note

Our weather can be unpredictable. Heavy rain can be experienced at some times which can cause local or widespread flooding.

Very quiet rural place, rustic but with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The thoughtful touches were most welcome. Good communication before and during the stay. Had a storm hit and lost power but heaps of candles made for another holiday experience to talk about. The dogs loved being farm dogs for a couple of days. Kayaked down the creek but a word of warning it is a long haul back up with a kayak and gear. Thanks Wendy and Gerry

Wendy and Gerry were fabulous hosts. Having the ability to stay on a farm and wake up to beautiful countryside with grazing cows nearby was such a wonderful experience. We took both of our dogs who had a huge secure yard to run around in and a great patio for shelter. The little things were a lovely touch, like a few key groceries given that there is no local corner shop. Overall 10 out of 10 for experience, location and hospitality we were really disappointed to have to go and will definitely be back.

Great location, right next to the river so fishing would be good. Incredibly helpful people, I got to know the area quite well in my short stay

We really enjoyed our week in Wendy and Gerry's place. It was spacious, comfortable, quiet and peaceful, and terrific for our dear old dog who enjoyed the nice big yard. Dinner at the nearby Bucca Hotel is a must! Also the Bundaberg Distillery Tour. Finally, don't take your dog to the Gin Gin market - you may get abused by a grumpy local for not seeing the signs saying no dogs allowed!

I had a great stay Gerry & Wendy's. The place is clean and comfortable and very homely. A great way to get away and unwind away from the everyday. Would definitely recommend this and would stay there again myself. Nathan

Enjoying life as a Nanna, gives me time to share my place with them and as a host to other families. I enjoy reading, sewing and yes, working. Meeting people is always interesting and offers opportunity to learn something new.
