Great location
90% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
Lingarth is a cosy croft house restored to modern standards between 2008 - 2015. Two double bedrooms, a modern kitchen and bathroom, a warm sitting room and a sunny porch with views of the sea and cliffs.

- PLEASE NOTE - Cullive is 80 miles from Lerwick. If travelling by public transport, buses do not run on Sundays.

The space
This 250+ year old cottage has been restored to modern standards of insulation and finish. A super-cosy sitting room with solid fuel stove, a lovely kitchen that is homely but modern, and a beautiful setting in the heart of Cullivoe, looking across at the cliffs of the Blue Mull and the waters of the Bluemull Sound.

The house will feel like your own home during your stay - clean and ready for you - but is full of history and personality with books, paintings and pictures that complement its location.

I am a sailor, musician and traveller - I have worked on tall ships since 2000, sailing in the South Pacific, the North Atlantic and elsewhere. At the moment I play music solo and in a number of bands. I also run a floating festival named 'Sessions and Sail' (you can look it up!), and work as a tall ship captain aboard the sailing vessel Lady of Avenel. I have been shown incredible hospitality all over the world by people of many diverse backgrounds, religions and nationalities. I love sharing my house and knowing that when I can't be there, someone else is able to enjoy the place. I spent most of my spare time from 2008-2011 rebuilding and restoring Lingarth, so inside the old stone walls there is a lovely cosy modern house that has been put together with care and love. My partner (also pictured) is Ash-Lynn, a conservationist who loves the outdoors, birds and wildlife. Together we are working on the area around Lingarth, and have plans to add a frog pond, a tree plantation, plants and habitat to encourage bees, and an effort to revive some rare native Shetland Willows. You will be able to see how these plans are developing when you visit. Hopefully you will love all the things that we love about it!
