Welcome to “Little Halcyon,” a charming 1930s home just moments from the CBD, Salamanca, Battery Point and the Casino. Enjoy stunning Kunanyi/Mt Wellington views while being only a short walk from the waterfront, cafés, supermarkets, restaurants, and parks. There is a fuel station 20m away where you can buy basic groceries. With on-site parking for up to 2 small cars, free street parking, and professionally laundered hotel-quality linen, it’s the perfect retreat for business or leisure.

The space
"Little Halcyon" has many lovely period features, and we have filled it with carefully collected vintage pieces in a nod to its history and an eye to a sustainable future. As you step into the house, the mellow ambience will embrace you. Guests who love cooking and are tempted by the wonderful array of fresh and sometimes uniquely Tasmanian produce available at the many markets and providores around Hobart will find a real cook's kitchen made for entertaining with quality cookware, implements and appliances. There are herbs like bay, mint, lemon verbena, rosemary and thyme growing around the front and back gardens for your use in meals or drinks. There is a gourmet supermarket across the road which opens at 7am. Relax on the tranquil long back porch, surrounded by greenery while streaming your favourite playlists.

So that you know what to expect, this is a period (ie. old) home facing onto a road. It has old timber floors that creak so you may hear your companions walking to the bathroom at night. Usually there is very little traffic after 8pm but sensitive types might hear even the odd passing car. There are also two very small windows in one wall near the ceiling of one bedroom, which means that some light will inevitably enter that room when day breaks. Please read the reviews so you won’t be disappointed.
