The space
Important, please read! This listing is for just ONE bed in a mixed shared dorm room. (If there are more than one of you you'll need to book a bed for each person.) SHARED means there will be other guests in the rooms with you! MIXED means there could be both men and women in the room. It has a total of 6 beds (3 sets of bunk beds).) You will share two full bathrooms, one toilet room and two separate showers with other guests in the house. We also have a Female Only Dorm Room and three private rooms.

This room is located in my home and I and one or more of my sons live here therefore it has the feel of a typical home so may have personal items left out here and there. We do our best to keep the home clean and tidy but since I rent out five rooms it is impossible to always clean up after a guest who may not be so clean and tidy, though most are!!! :)

In the winter we have a place for your ski/snowboarding gear.

Guest access
Our beautiful lodge style log home, called Teton Hostel Hideaway, is situated on 13 acres mostly hidden from all other homes and surrounded by farmland. The home has many covered porches and a patio with tables and a barbeque grill. Guests can mingle in the TV/game room to watch TV and play pool and ping pong. Guests can relax in the great room and enjoy the warmth of the fire & the beautiful view of the mountains. Guests are also welcome to use the kitchen to prepare meals. A fridge is provided for their use. Guests can also do laundry here.

Other things to note
I have free coffee/tea but please limit yourself to 1 Keurig cup a day. If you want more than one coffee per day it will be $1 for each extra Keurig cup because they are pretty expensive.

(Summer only.) I offer foods you can prepare for breakfast for free if you like such as eggs, toast, bagels and cream cheese, fruit, hot and cold yogurt, etc. If you want to snack or take some food for lunch there is a price list posted in the kitchen and a money jar on the counter.

You can do laundry in the afternoon or evenings between 4 PM and 9 PM for $3 per load. If you use your own soap it must be HE type soap.

Where I went to school: Teton High School in Driggs, Idaho
My work: I own and manage Teton Hostel Hideaway and Kiligore Mountain Hideaway Lodge and Hostel
I grew up in Teton Valley then left for over 25 years. In 2006 we bought 13 acres of the family farm that's been in the family for over 100 years and built my dream log home out in the hay field. Now that my 4 sons are grown I want to share my big, beautiful home with others. Here's my main motivation for this. The day after Thanksgiving 2013 I left on what was to be a 6-week Asia tour. After spending Christmas with my friends in Hong Kong I was to go to China but had a problem with my Visa so was not able to go. I had heard about the huge typhoon that had devastated parts of the Philippines and decided to spend my last 2 weeks there doing humanitarian work. I ended up staying for 6 months!!! It was the most fulfilling and happiest time of my life, and I decided I wanted to do humanitarian work the rest of my life. So, I decided to rent rooms out in my home to fund my humanitarian efforts. In December of 2020, with help from my friends in the Philippines, I started a home for street children. This has been so rewarding to see these kids' lives change through education and part-time jobs. So, your staying here helps these amazing young people better their lives. Thank you! I love this beautiful valley and enjoy backpacking, hiking, biking, horse riding, canoeing, and cross-country skiing here. My most favorite activity is scuba diving! Unfortunately, I don't get to do it very often. I also play softball, volleyball and basketball. I am very much a people person and am looking forward to meeting wonderful people from all around the world.
