This three-bedroom property has all the amenities required for a comfortable stay for the family, a group of friends or singles. Located two minutes from Cessnock CBD you can leave the car at home and explore Cessnock on foot. After some sightseeing or to explore the region, Pokolbin and the Hunter Valley is five minutes away.

The property sits on a busy main road, yet the location is fabulous for exploring the region. Turn left out of the driveway and you head into Cessnock, Wollombi, and other historical towns in the area to explore. Turn right and you head straight into Pokolbin where you can taste the many delights the Hunter Valley has on offer. The single level property has everything you require as you take in the vineyards and attractions during your stay.

Dinner choices are extensive being within easy walking distance to the main precinct of Cessnock or catch a Taxi or Uber and indulge at one of the award-winning restaurants within minutes of the property in the Hunter Valley. Want something home cooked? The kitchen is stocked with just about every utensil you will need to lay out the perfect spread for everyone to enjoy, all you must do is bring the food.

As you will find Giralang is perfectly located regardless of what you want to do. With easy access to the Hunter Valley and the many attractions the region has to offer, or a trip into the beaches of Newcastle you won’t be disappointed.

The largest town in Australia’s oldest wine region, Cessnock is the perfect place to explore acclaimed wineries and countryside. The local area was once known as "The Coalfields", and it is the gateway city to the vineyards of the Hunter Valley, which includes Pokolbin, Mount View, Lovedale, Broke, Rothbury, and Branxton. Begin your adventure with a Hunter Valley wine tour or take a scenic drive and discover great family attractions, such as Hunter Valley Gardens, Hunter Valley Zoo and Werakata National Park.

Perfect for a midweek or weekend escape, getting to the heart of Australia’s oldest wine region in Cessnock is easy. Only two hours’ drive north of Sydney and 50 minutes west of Newcastle Airport, trains also depart from Sydney for Singleton, via Newcastle.

There are many fun wine tours, from shuttle services to personal chauffeurs, as well as local self-guided maps from the Hunter Valley Visitor Information Centre.
At the Hunter Valley Zoo, hand-feed kangaroos and wallabies and get up close to koalas, big cats and meerkats. Bring the family for a picnic and enjoy one of the daily shows. Only a 15 minute drive from town, the Hunter Valley Gardens is an enchanting landscape the family can explore.

Architectural gems in Cessnock include a timber-sawn home, circa 1885, that now houses the Marthaville Arts and Cultural Centre. Check out the lively events calendar for wonderful shows at the Cessnock Performing Arts Centre.

In Yengo National Park you will see Aboriginal engravings at one of Australia’s finest Aboriginal cultural sites. There are also picnic spots in nearby Werakata National Park. From Astills picnic area a mountain bike track winds through spotted gums.

Just outside of town, you’ll experience exceptional fine dining experiences at the many award-winning establishments amongst the Hunter Valley.

The Newcastle, Hunter Valley and surrounding areas are growing and thriving but still have a regional flavour. We've seen the region change and grow during our lifetime however it is still easy to get around - as we always say, there are about 6 different routes you can take to travel from one part to another. We love using the backstreets though because it is here that you can find a treasure.
